After looking at the Draw for the finals, it sadly look's like, there is a good chance of a repeat of last years final of Ebdon v Dott.
With Ronnie playing Ding then the winner playing Robertson then Higgins just to get to the semi. look's a tough route. compared to Dott in the top half.
With Hendry, it look like he will play Ali Carter next round, who has a great record playing Hendry, Murphy and Ken doherty to play each other it look's good for Ebdon in the Botom half.
This is my Guess Ebdon to win this year and to beat Dott in Final.
Outside bet for botom half is Matthew Stevens 20/1 with Ladbrokes
EASY DOLLA................???????
May even have a little bet myself as i should be picking up £50 from nathan on who scores more goals in the prem, i had Andy Johnson (11 goals) nathan had Bellamy (7 goals)...
I say Dott and Ebdon will have too much pressure and go out by the quarters. Look out for Neil Robertson to give Ronnie a hard time and for Hendry to waltz into the final with his usual understated style.
Eh, what do I know. I've only been glued to it for three years so I've never seen Ronnie at his best. That said, it feels like we might never see the Ronnie of old again. Alternating between walking out and giving his opponents a pep talk, seems like he's not focussed on the game...
I also think ebdon stands a good chance. Despite everyone saying he's boring he is one of my favourite players.
He's a good break builder, tactically very good as well. He's probably the only player on the circuit who could play the final (best of 35) in a single session and maintain concentration throughout. plus, he never knows when he's beat!
Just checked on my bets from ages ago (before the draw was made):
£20 on Neil Robertson at 25/1 £5 on Ken Doherty at 20/1
Still reasonably happy with them, though the draw wasn't too kind. I think Ronnie is always too much of a bookies favourite given the number of times he's won it despite being streets ahead of the opposition on his day. If LBJ is betting on him, he's bloody well bound to win it though!
GOD wrote:Cheeky! i was merely refering to his unrivaled powers of concentration and determination!
If you've been paying attention. you'll have noticed i have neither of those attributes in my pool game! lol.
No but I reckon there is one in Oxford who does MING the only person I know who can concentrate all day and drink beer without any negative effects to his game all day long.
Ming pissed v Ebdon on the pool table......em tactical frames means sleeping bags for the crowd is my tip

Well POOL SHARK, your bet on Mr Robertson was looking quike good till the true class of the rocket came through (lucky 21st frame i must admit, or just robertson's bottle going "BERTY")
That 7/2 still looking to short old LAKEATTACKS
What about the 20/1 on Mr Stevens ( hard game tomorrow though )
Dott - out Ebdon - out Robertson - put up a damn good fight
Next year if you want to know in advance who's NOT going to win, and when, come talk to me, I'll sort you out.
Does anyone else think Ronnie looks like he'd rather be somewhere else? Never seen a guy look less excited to be playing at the Crucible, or spend more time picking his nose.
well lakeattacks, i cant see dott reaching the final.....AS I HAVE JUST SEEN HIM CRASH AND BURN IN THE FIRST ROUND....
dont give up your day job mate cos you aint going to make a champion tipster......
and like you said, i would no hold much hope for ebdon either....
STILL THERE IS ALWAYS NEXT YEAR
come on ronnie and stevens make me some EASY DOLLA....
LAKEATTACKS WROTE
With Hendry, it look like he will play Ali Carter next round, who has a great record playing Hendry, -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just like a Champion Tipster mate, I bet no one got on that tip. Bookmakers Fav me, tip people that all ready out then come up trumps with a great bet.
Ronnie still got Higgins to beat but if he get's passed that challange then no one is there to stop him, apart from his own demons. 7/2 maybe looking a bit better now.

EASY DOLLA?????????
Well done for spelling his name right, BJ! Ah well, both my bets out in the first two rounds. Still - only £25 down the drain. Might put some money on Higgins now...
Don't be surprised if Selby repeats what Shaun Murphy did a few years ago coming through the qualifiers and reaches the final - what odds are the bookies giving on him ?
Ali Carter then the winner of Stevens / Murphy has to fancy his chances now....

Stevens 11 - 5 up over night, Easy dolla. LOL Stevens 12 - 7 up, nobody has ever lost from this winning lead Easy Dolla. LOL Murphy wins 13 - 12, Stevens out oops
Ronnie Losing 11 - 5. Can he repeat Murphy's turn around.
Ronnie 7/2 was to short, Now at 8/1 to turn it around. Bet in Running
Good chance of a new name on the trophy and would be interesting to know the starting odds of the players above to win it because I bet the bookies would have only had Ronnie and John on low odds as favourites.
Looks like another good sporting event gone in fabour of the bookies like the National.

Selby/Carter might have some pretty good odds in terms of winning big from a smallish stake. It worked for me last year with Dott, so I'll try it again.
Oh, and hard luck Eassy Dolllllllaaaaaaaaaaaa hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah
At 12 - 4 over night. Who would off thought the final would finish at 1.00am this morning. A fantastic comeback by Selby, who got it back to 14 -13 by some fantastic shot making. But Higgins then showed some class, by winning the next 4 frame's, including a 129 break, to take him 17 -13, then nearly followed it with another 100 plus break but broke down on 78, Winning it 18 - 13
Well Played Selby for making it a great final day, and he's got to be a player worth watching in 2008.
Also well done to Higgins for making it back to world number 1 and world champion.
See Steve I said he was an outside bet to repeat the feet Shaun Murphy did in 2005.
He is only the 3rd qualifier to reach the final of the World championships quite something in its own right and he also finished top of the century breaks on 12 !
Still reckon he is happy witht he ton of money he picked up from his efforts over the last 2 weeks...
