As many of you know, myself and Ashley lost our nephew in the Eastern Bypass accident those 2 short years ago.

There was a pool memorial held yesterday at the Crown House Club, where in fact me and Ashley unveiled a new pool table that we bought for the club as a thanks for all the support they have given to us since Liam's death and the fact that they let us use the premises for all our fundraising free of charge.

A big thank you to all of you that came along and played, you made it a fantastic day for all the family and already we are planning next years memorial.

The last 2 memorials have been won by Malcolm, who unfortunately got knocked out by Ben Scott.  Over the last 2 years it has been open to people that had in fact met Liam, this year was different we wanted to keep the memorial as fresh as ever, so a big thanks to the new entrants this year who included: Potter, Jimmy & Lauren, Ben & Jaz, Matty Challen and Nathan Ball.

The winner being Max Emery, a big well done Liam would be proud, and the very proud runner up was Potter.  The money raised yesterday will be given to The Slade Fire Station for the bereavment fund as they were the first on the scene of the accident, so a big thank you goes out to them.

If you would like to play in next years event please get in touch, entry will be £5 next year.

A big thanks to you all

Emma and Ashley

Oh yeah and the Crown House send a big thank you to Jimmy who stood in to call bingo for them, told you I'd tell everyone that you had a hidden talent!!

Nice to see one of our Sunday players reaching the final of a very personnel event to the organisers. Well done mate please return back next week your super sub did his bit by winning 1/2 last night.

Will you advertise this event a bit more next year then seeing as it appears that guests are being allowed to enter from the posting.

I hope to go one better than runner up last year in the one Julian organises later in the year at colours. Trophies in these type of competitions often mean more to the winners than any they acquire through league play because the competition is being held to honor / remember someone or something in this case Emma and Ash's Nephew Liam.

How much did you manage to raise ?

We raised £150 yesterday, but we have a charity karaoke disco on the 16 June 2007, the money raised from this will be added together.

We never publicise the event, but I can put your name down if you want and then contact you nearer the time?

Emma

May I thank my fans ''the silver foxes'' and ''blue rinse brigade''  for their appreciation of some truly phenominal bingo calling, they had the courtesy to laugh at my ''family appropriate'' gags and even a generous round of applause at the end,  after my 74,000 hours community service..............sorry, bingo calling I was trying desperately to hold back the tears as one of the silvers decided to give me some tips on calling the numbers.

I didn't have the heart to tell her i did'nt want to further my bingo careeraww

Thank you very much Emma and Ash from myself and Lauren for the invite, it was a fantastic day and i hope you raise plenty more cash in a few weeks,  well done to all involved!

I would've liked to take part in this too but firstly I didn't know about it and secondly it clashed with an EPA county fixture so I couldn't of gone anyway. Maybe next year you could ask me when our fixtures are so it doesn't clash and some of the EPA county players could also go as I'm sure the accident still holds a place in many peoples hearts. I know it does mine as my son was 13 years old just 2 days before it happened plus I'm a good friend of Julian Wood.
I'm glad to hear you had a successful day though.

PQ.

Thanks.  I am going to try and organise a plate memorial for sometime later in the year so if you let me know when you have EPA fixtures we could try and work around them.  Obviously we need a minmum of 32 people so if anyone is interested then please send me a personal message with your full name.

We will try and confirm the date by mid July.
Thanks

Em
