As I mentioned at our AGM this year one event I wanted to get sorted this year was Paintballing.

I've looked into this on a couple of occasions this year but always seem to come back to this probabaly costing at least £20 for half a days paintballing, once all your paint and kit is taken into consideration.  Though exact packages vary depending on when booked and for how many.

My view was this was too expensive to be within the budgets of most of our county players.  However if people have a view as to whether you would still like me to organise such an event (coz I'd love to do it), give your views here and I will take it into consideration.

I'd like to know "How much is too much?" for a county social event, and if it was a one off event like Paintball, would people be prepared to pay £20??? confused

£20 would not be too much for me, but it would have to be something I liked and I'm not the biggest fan of Paintballing. Karting is a different matter though... evileye

I agree with you there Ash, I went to the one in Andover with work and it cost around £25 each in a team endurance event. The price is set for a team so the more you have the cheaper it gets but the less time you have. The karts went about 30 - 35 mph and we had two goes lasting about 10 minutes each over a 2 hour race. I think that if everyone was interested we could almost book the entire race with teams from within the county squad. we have over 50 players and there wasn't that many people there that night when I went.

It's ashame you're not up for a bit of paintballing beefy. I'm sure everyone would have jumped at the chance of being able to legally shoot you. lol.

As for go-carting, i went a few years ago to some place on the outskirts of London. There must have been about 50 of us. It was set up as a sort of league type thingy where we all had several races in a group stage. the winners progressed to the overall final and everyone else had to race in knockout style playoff races to get in to the final.

Everyone must have had at least 6 races and was a great day out. Not sure how much it cost as it was a work do, and they paid. I wouldn't have thought it was more than £20 ish per person.

I suppose some thing like that would require a large group and so it might have to be openned up to non county players as well?
