Having been prompted by JFK's excellent county stats, I thought I'd do something similar for the Monday pool league and show the number of wins against number of matches played since I took over as Secretary in 2001/2 (up until the end of last season).
The table is summarised below, and makes much more satisfying reading for Malc than his disappointing win percentage in County matches.
The table includes all league matches for individuals playing in Section One, and also Section Two when the league has run to a 'split division'. I may have missed the odd player out towards the bottom of the list, but the top 10 is accurate.
I'm fairly content with third place in the table, though my win % is not exactly stunning. Malc on 90.2% and 101 wins totally blows away the competition, with only Nathan on 87.9% really getting anywhere near him.
I can e-mail the full file to anyone who wants it, and if you have full data going back earlier than that Malc, then let me have it and I'll update the list (guessing you'll still be on top...)
Does that include this year's results? If so Tom had only lost one match and was on 95% before coming under my captaincy! Hope that doesn't say anything about my captaining skills!!
With only 2 wins from 5 in the top sections so far, I may have to wait a few years til I make that list...
Ahem, yup, please don't include stats for this year!
Also, feel free to add to my stats my results from playing from the JRSSC, I forget which section we were in but we played for one season and I won most wins so that should help me up a few places!
Ash, Is there any chance of doing stats from the lower leagues maybe just top 5 on % and top 5 on wins over that time.
I'd better tell a few of mine to get going this year if thay want to make that list next year, I think mine is 13/26 at the moment, 50% not bad, but needs improving.

The stats are up to the end of last season.
As for Tom's stats from his JRSC era, that was the season before I took over, but if I remember rightly you were in Section Two when it was a seperate section so it wouldn't count? Still, whatever Mr. Lewis may have kept will be added if he sends it to me.
As for lower section stats, I can have a look and see what it works out like, but I think they'll be lots of people on very similar stats due to not playing every year - either because their team has been demoted/promoted over the years, or they are 'occasional' players.

VERY good stuff mate,
............................... but I'm sorry to say that I have only got Osney Arms stats as the "FULL" most wins list was never sent out to anyone, by any of the other previous secretary's.

Never mind. I feared as much - still the stats do show a pretty accurate picture of the 'modern era'. Wonder what Lucky's stats are like over the whole period of the Monday league?
The Pool Shark wrote:Wonder what Lucky's stats are like over the whole period of the Monday league? How many (just league games) do you think I've played Ash ?.

As there seem's to be a record on a scroll some where, LOL. I reckon roughly 350 game's, win % roughly 80%, is that close. Since records started on the website anyway, LOL

I have played since this league started in 1984 which (not including this season) is 32 seasons, 350 is way off.

A Approx update, With Games up to week 10 from this season. Also A few selected others That Ash might want to add to the big list when it's updated at the end of the season. but I have only got figures from last season and this. Also 3 more make 100 club from 2001.
Right, given that I'm bowing out after ten years of Secretarial duties, I thought I'd do a proper version of the rather half-arsed attempt I did back in 2007.
Below you will find stats for the top 150 players who've played in Section One & Two (i.e. the top section as it's always been split into two) for the last ten seasons in the Monday pool league.
Some players, like Nicki and Jaz, cut their cloth in the lower sections for a few seasons, so have played lots more games - but I'm going to be strict about not including them unless it was against the best!
Needless to say, Malc's record is mightily impressive, easily topping the most wins, with a mightily impressive win percentage, and he's also played the most games as well! Bloody show-off!
Here's my list of Monday stats and pool 'heroes':
Total players played: 521
Total matches played: 4967
Most matches played without a win: Serena Curtis (14)
List of 'Heroes of the Monday league' who've played in over 100 matches:
Malc Lewis (189), Ben Scott (186), Richard Day (168), Ash Fletcher (155), Max Emery (150), James Egleston (142), Keith Hollis (139), Nathan Ball (126), John Kinsey (125), Shaun Taylor (123), Keith Taylor (119), Jamey Street (113), Ian Clarke (112), Stewart Clarke (110), Hazel Dabrowski (109), Julian Wood (103).
List of 'Heroes of the Monday league' who've won more than 100 matches:
Malc Lewis (161), Richard Day (128), Ben Scott (127), Nathan Ball (103).
List of 'Heroes of the Monday league' who've won more than 75% of matches (with 30 or more wins):
Malc Lewis (85%), John Street (83%), Nathan Ball (82%), Jimmy Millar and Kevin McIlroy (81%), Marcus Guise (79%), Paul Watson (78%), Pete Maconochie (77%), Richard Day, Isty Afzal and Paul Chambers (76%).
List of 'Heroes of the Monday league' who've played matches in the top sections ALL ten seasons:
Most matches played without being beaten (not consecutive): Bob Wernet (8)
And here's the list in full from 1st to 150th. I'll put the file on the website soon which includes all 521 players, and I'll pass it on to the new Secretary so they can keep it up-to-date. It's just a shame that a proper all-time list can't be created, but details from 1992 just weren't kept sadly - probably because most of those years stats were kept with a pencil and paper rather than computer! Malc would probably top that list easily too though...

Its amazing to see some of the names on here that have stopped playing, some returning, some deprived of that through no fault of their own and others that have simply stopped playing.......
Good Job Ash, the shark is gonna be a hard act to follow - for record keeping etc

I've now updated the stats correcting the missing results from this season. Doesn't make much of a difference, but I'd deleted the first two results of this season when I originally input the data.
