All,

The new season is due to commence from the 12th October.  The matches on the first evening of the 2008/09 season will either be a knockout preliminary or the first league fixture.

The aim is to have the fixtures lists and the first round of the knockout competitions distributed to all venues early next week.

All,

I plan to send out information for the new season early next week.  This will include the League Fixtures list and the first round of knockout draws.

I am keeping the entries open for all competitions until the end of this weekend so if there are any extra entries you want to make please make sure you ring me before 8pm on Sunday 21st September (07739016497).

I will publish the current list of entries on the website:

The season will begin on Sunday 12th October with a League fixture.

All,

The Fixtures List for the 2008/09 season is now available on the website.  I will distribute hard copies of the this to all venues through this week.

I plan to make the first draws for all knockouts over next weekend and will update the website and distribute hard copies next week.

Reminder:

AGM - Wednesday 24th September, 7.30pm at the Osney Arms

Presentation Night & Singles Final - Sunday 28th September, 7.00pm at Rileys (Presentations to commences after the Singles Final).

Plus, it's worth me adding that the format of the new season will adopt the same "split division" methodology of the Tuesday League and Monday League Section One & Section Two.

We have 12 teams all playing each other twice through the season but the teams are split into a two sections of six teams for the sake of producing the league tables.

I've amended the Fixtures List and have republished on the website.

The change is to allow for a break for Easter Sunday so all dates for the fixtures after then (12th April) have been shifted one week later.

At the moment I am Chairman, however as Emma is standing down for next year I am putting myself forward as next year's Secretary.  The AGM is this Wednesday so until then I'm officially only the Chairman.

The draws have been made for the prelims for all competitions and are available for download from the website:

Please note that the first two weeks of knockout matches (11th and 18th November 2008) there are prelims for the Three Man, Two Man, Doubles and Singles knockouts.  If you are drawn in more than one competition on the same night then you must contact you opposition in either and arrange to play it on another date, preferably earlier.  I have everyone's contact numbers so please text or email me if you need someone's number.

Ming if you don't want to be involved in any of the Oxford Sunday Pool League competitions I will quite happily remove you, just let me know.

It's not the "same old balls up", it's an entirely new kind of balls up very cleverly crafted to ensure that the season is kept to under one year which isn't easy as we have a 22 match fixture list to fit in alongside the knockout competitions.

Clearly the Abingdon League is far superior so I suggest in future you stick to playing in that.
