It is with great sadness that I have to announce the passing of Pete Timms (known on here as 8ball) suddenley yesterday on the 28th December.
I have known Pete (Timmsy) for almost 30 years and people that knew him will know what a great and loveably character he was and will be greatly missed by all.
Our condolences to his family at this very sad time.
Rest in peace Pete
Malc

Pete was a valued member of this forum, and although he used to enjoy playing Devil's Advocate occasionally on here, he did it with a smile, and he was a definite friend of the Oxfordshire pool world and will be missed by all I'm sure.
Deepest sympathies go to his family at such a horrible time of year to lose someone close.
When I started reading the topic I thought it was a wind up. Pete was a genuinely nice guy if a little argumentative at times. The type of guy who would go out of his way to help you if he could.
I am so very sad to hear that Timmsy is no longer with us.
I always liked the guy, good for a friendly chat between frames, and used to be an A1 pool and poker regular. He always had a good word for me at any rate.
Not only that, he fixed my cue up only a couple of months ago. He did an absolutely super job of it and saved me a whole lot of trauma in the process.
I was going to give Timmsy £20 for his trouble when I next saw him, and I guess that is not going to happen now. If Malc might be able ask the family if they wanna suggest a suitable charity or something I can donate it instead.

RIP Timmsy
Will do Jaz.

I was in total shock when I just read the posting. Pete and I had many tactial battles in various matches over the last 10 plus years I have known him and like the previous posts have mentioned a genuine nice guy.
Sad loss RIP Pete.

Like most on here I'm truly Gobsmacked to say the least.
Not sure what I can say that hasn't already been said.
A really nice genuine guy that was always willing to help out. Sad and tragic loss, I'm positive he'll never be forgotten in the circles of Oxford Pool.
My sincere condolences go out to all his loved ones.
Well I dont really know where to start. Pete was probably my closest friend and have played with him 2 or 3 nights a week for the best part of 10 years. I was genuinely shocked when I recieved the news last nite and dont think it has really sunk in properly. He was the most genuine bloke I have known and would do anything for anyone. He liked a good stur up in the pool world but it is most definately pools loss.
My pool nights will definately never be the same again

On behalf of Tracey and all the family, I would like to thank everyone for their kind words and messages on this forum, I know Pete would have appreciated them.

rip pete mate your gonna be missed so bad especially on a thursday night pool and poker just wont be the same without you, but you have left me with so many good memorys rip mate xflashx
Cant believe it, when i first got told by kenny broster at first i just thought he was pratting about, t took kenny 2 phone calls for me to belive it and the even after that i still thought it was joke, by then went rileys and most people behind the bar said its true aswell, just unbelievable.
just overall a nice man, and to be honest i cant actually remember a time when he werent in a good mood every time i saw him on a thursday night pool game he was always joking about.
R.I.P timmsy still shocked! and if im allowed to that'll be good if i can go to his funeral.
truly truly gutted, an amazing guy, of whom i hav few but very fond memories none more so than at nationals watching him attempt to keep up the drinking pace with Doris and the chief etc only to fail miserably and suffer an extreme hangover! and yet Pete being Pete, he still thought it was the funniest thing ever!
