A1 will be having a Blackball pool tournament on Friday 10th April (Good Friday).
- Tournament will be limited to the first 32 PAID entries. - Provisionally the entry fee will be £10 (this may go down if there is a lack of interest!) - All matches will be best of 7 apart from the final which will be best of 11. - A1 will be opening with tables on free play from 5.00pm. - Play will start at 6.00pm sharp. If you miss your call you lose your money! - I will speak to Annie about organising some sort of drinks promotion for the evening. - All entry fees will be paid out in prize money.
A1 can be contacted on 01865 244300 (after 6.30pm), alternatively you can give your money to me!
Whilst I have your attention............
I'm also thinking of organising an annual event at A1 for later in the year imaginatively called the 'A1 Open'. It would be a 2 day event with entry fees costing £25 and all matches being best of 15. Would anyone be interested in something like this?

Firstly, isn't this a bit of a contradiction; a £10 pp event that may be cheaper if there's no interest and then proposing a £25 pp event. Do you propose to advertise the £25 pp event further afield ?
Surely there cannot be a lack of interest seeing as 30+ people are paying £20, £50, and £100 in another competition.
Secondly, isn't 6pm a bit late for starting.... Supposing that each match lasts 1 hour; 32 players on 4 tables will take approx 9 hours to complete.
Anyway, i'll enter both...

They think it's all over - IT IS NOW(Kenneth "LUCKY" Wolstenhome)
Firstly, I've attempted to run tournaments that cost £10 to enter in the past with little success. I'm hoping that 2 months notice will be enough to get 32 people all willing to pay £10 to enter.
Secondly, No one should bother to enter unless they fully intend to be there untill the very early hours of the morning (or intend to get knocked out in the first round!). I had anticipated a 2.30am ish finish. I don't expect all matches to take an hour anyway. Obviously, all of yours will though! lol.
Thirdly, the more expensive tournament will be towards the end of the summer, I shall wait for the county fixtures to come out before deciding on a date. Again, I'm hoping that 6 months notice or so will be more than enough to ensure a good line up. As the tourny will be played over 2 days there will be no limit to the number of players who can enter. I will be advertising it on UK 8 Ball if there appears to be local interest in such a tourny.

I don't think it's unreasonable to finish that late on a Friday night. But I will speak to Annie and see if she's prepared to open up at 2.00pm with the tourny starting at 3.00pm.

Ladyboy heaven for you there then. Keith is still upset about the OFS incident by the way...
Thai bride.
Watty was coming to Thailand, but pulled out.
There was no incident with Keith. He is fine about what happened. In fact he marched me to the bar, got me a pint and a shot, and said 'do fancy some more?'... Not sure he was on about the drink mind!
I was surprised you were not in OFS Fletcher, you 'love it'
