Oxford's teams got off to a mixed start with the first match of the season this weekend
Mens A Oxford 9-18 Berkshire
Mens B Oxford 13-14 Berkshire unlucky guys :o( Adam luck got 3/3
Mens C Oxford W-L Berkshire not sure about the final score, but we'd reached 14 and won before I headed home 3/3 for Lee McCallister, not sure if there were any others?
Ladies Oxford 11-10 Berkshire Well at least we got the win... This has traditionally been one of our easier fixtures, so I think we were a bit shell shocked to be level pegging with these girls. But Berks played well and we were sloppy at times. Well done to Shelly who got us over the line in the decider after a long drawn out safety battle!

A great result considering we lost to them at Selsey recently but could have been better as we won the match 14 - 9 before losing 3 of the last 4 only captain Flapjack on last stopped them from holding us to 14-13.....
Not sure about 3/3 but I think there were several who got 2/3.... Jamie took the sheet so hopefully he will post a summary on here soon.
great match close all the way never more than 2 frames in ti until Oxford took 3 of the opening four frames in the final leg to go 13 - 8 up
Nice to see the new players getting wins as well.
Lee McCallister, Jamie Power and Mark Salter....
Team was Flapjack, Beefy, Pissfield, Gaughan, Lee, Jamie, Mark, Peanut and Will + Jaz who stood in for Pissfiled in the first leg

Cracking result for the C team, 15 - 12 winners away against Berkshire, I've been told thats the first time the C's have won their opening game! Captain Dick only went and left the sheet in Berkshire...d'oh! So I'm not 100% on the stats...but this is how I think the stats were...
Jaz Venning 0/1 (Thank you for stepping in at the last minute =] ) Keith Hollis 2/3 Jamie Saczak 2/3 Mark Pittfield 1/2 Tom Gaughan 1/3 Lee Mcallister 3/3 Jamie Power 2/3 Mark Salter 2/3 Richard Saunders 1/3 Will Cooper 1/3

Hi everyone. Really enjoyed my first county experience with the C team on Sunday. Was pleased to get 2/3 in the end after going in off the break and not getting another shot in my first frame!
I got 2/3 Beefy, and I think Jamie and Will both got 1/3 Great win for the C's! especially with a decimated team - great work by Jaz, Shelley and Nicki standing in.
The nxt I am not sure about as I gave John the sheet
Did you? I don't think John has it - he said you took it yesterday afternoon.
In future can the mens and ladies sheets come to me when I'm there as I use them to update the stats (I have the Mens A, B & L from yesterday). I then scan a copy to John.
This is slightly different froom the way round we did it last year - you weren't to know Beefy.

John can you clarify exactly what is required on the form in terms of signature please. Is it every frame or just once nect to each name on the sheet ?

Thanks Mark.
Jamie was the missing win - sorry mate as we all won in the final leg bar the first person and Lady subs so that clears that up.
That was a hectic match to organise yesterday with liasing with the girls over when to play and juggling ref's to suit the shortfall. We were very out numbered on the support front as a result of only 7 players against about 16 of them.
With 2 playing and 2 reffing that left 3 to cheer the players on tough but we done em

GOD wrote:I was stood at the bar with John when Beefy gave him the results sheet. So he must have it........
Surely resignations to follow for casting doubt on Beefy's version of events ?

The A team won 14-13 with Nicki winning the deciding frame.
This is the first time in 3 seasons that Oxfordshire 'A' have beaten Bristol in the normal county season. Just shows what a bit of team spirit can do..... Hopefully this will kick start the rest of the season.
The B Team won 15-12 and the Ladies won 11-10 with Nicki clinching the deciding frame for them too.
The C's suffered a first loss of the season (I think) 14-13 after Bristol claimed a frame (towards the start of the match) on a technicality.
It was a really good day yesterday, thoroughly enjoyed the pool, especially once the clouds of my hangover started to clear... Disappointed for the C's who I think were winning pretty much the whole match - think it just went a bit wrong in the last leg. Apologies for not contributing more as a sub, I was less than sparkling :(
Excellent fight from the A team - often guilty of losing their way when they fall behind - this couldn't have been further from the case yesterday. To come back from 13-10 down (having enjoyed a comfortable lead earlier in the match) they could have been forgiven for thinking they had thrown it all away. This time Oxford fought their way back...
JFK pulled out a thrilling clearance after his opponent missed a fairly straightforward black on a dish off John's break, which included a couple of excellent disturbs. This left Nicki to bring the victory home. That was also a very nicely played frame - Nicki kept her cool and made her opponent clear a key pocket, and then capitalised when the birstol guy failed to position accurately when taking out his clearance.
Disappointing result from the 'C' team yesterday, losing 14-13 to Bristol. Only found out my team when we got there, which included adding two ladies at the last minute, which can only be described as poor organisation from the Oxford end.
Having said that, we took a lead in the match and won the first leg 6 - 3, giving us an opportunity to go on and win the match, which unfortunately we didnt take. Big game next, need to get back to winning ways, but myself, Luke Ingram and Yousif will all be unavaiable as we are in Turkey.
Jamie Saczak 2/3 Luke Ingram 3/3 >> Man of match, great 1st match of the season Rich saunders 0/3 Shelley James 1/3 Jaz Venning 1/3 Will Cooper 2/3 Jimbo 1/3 Max Emery 2/3 Beefy 1/3
