All,

The registration form for the 2010-11 season of the Oxford Sunday Pool League is now available.

I've emailed it to all those I have email addresses for.  I'm also going to post copies out to the regular venues however if you're interested in receiving a form please let me know.

The deadline for all paid entries is Sunday 5th September.  The 2010-11 season will start on Sunday 3rd October.

The 2010 Oxford Sunday Pool League AGM will be held on Wednesday 25th August at 7pm at the Folly Bridge.

Previously I'd planned to hold it on the 18th August but I am now away then so have moved it back one week.

All proposals for the meeting need to be sent to me before 18th August.

I will list the proposals before the AGM in an attempt to raise the attendance from what we had last year.  At least one of the proposals this year may be of interest to the regular players.

The forms for registration for the 2010 were published early August and abour 50 were posted out to various venues in Oxford.

So far I have received 6 incomplete entries.

The official deadline is this Sunday so for the league to run this year I need captains to sort out submitting their completed entry forms asap.

We have 12 teams for the 2010-11 season with a number of new teams entered.

The fixtures list will be available online over the weekend with the league starting on Sunday 26th September with the Team KO Prelim.  The draw for this will be made tonight.  The first league fixture will be Sunday 3rd October.

The draws for the Team, 2 Man, Doubles and Singles knockouts will be made tonight and posted online tomorrow.

The 3 Man event only attracted four entries which is not enough to run it financially.

What I'll probably plan to do is use one of the later Singles Series nights to run a randomly drawn 3 Man KO event.

Only one entry for the Mixed Doubles was received hence it being omitted from the knockout file.

The League Fixtures, Knockout Draws and League Rules will be posted out over the weekend.

I have distributed hard copies of the fixtures, knockout draws and league rules to each venue.

Please note that due to me failing to include the knockout entries from the Folly Bridge when making the draws the following amendments have been made:

Two Man:
Tom Williams & Adam Brown no longer have a bye in the first round, they now host Charlie Guinan & Dave Aitken (Folly Bridge).

Doubles:
Simon Anderson & Jamie Power no longer have a bye in the first round, they now play away against Charlie Guinan & Dave Aitken (Folly Bridge).

Singles:
Simon Anderson no longer has a bye in the first round, he now hosts Dave Aitken (Folly Bridge).

These were randomly drawn from each of the entries which had previously received byes.  The online version of the draws will be updated on Monday.

This is a reminder to all teams that on Sunday 5th December from 6pm at Rileys the Sunday Pool League is holding a singles tournament.  It'll be £2 or £3 to enter and is only open to people who have played in this season's league.
