Against all the odds somehow the Boundary House managed to hold it together for the most closely battled set of games in quite some time.
Boundary House 8 - 7 Kennington Social Club
Mark Trafford was really unlucky to lose the last with Loz doing a skill shot on the red followed right after it with the black :)
I am sure they might divulge more of the night as it was eventful but it was a good one and nice to see some players that we have not played in many a year. Once Sid had dealt with a few issues in the club before the match we were made to feel welcome and had a good laugh.
All the best guys in your league.
We certainly did not expect a win there but will gladly take it.

Indeed, it was a shot that Beefy would have been proud of!

Indeed, couldn't agree more

It was a nice welcome you had just as you walked through the door lol.

Very nice to see you guys again and was a very friendly match apart from one person trying to put his opponent off! Lots of great banter - shame we didn't have the same luck as our guests

All frames played as I don't believe in leaving early and our opponents appreciated this even though we ended up wining 11-4
sorry Jules but I can't resist this one !
Julian brought a new "Lucky Liverpool away shirt" well it said Julian on the card but I think it was Gerrard inside as the not so lucky shirt" meant he failed to score in three attempts last night. So come on woody what number was on the back cause it wasn't a strikers number - lol
Anyway stats from last night
first 11 All 15
Keith 2/2 3/3 Julian 0/2 0/3 James 1/2 2/3 Andrew 3/3 Nicky 2/2 3/3
Great night with a lively atmosphere in a game where our opponents were up against it given their league position to ours) but they thoroughly enjoyed the night.

We were the architects of our own downfall last night but in my opinion it was actually an even match on balance of play. Some bad luck, an extremely strange table and the fact that we didn't get our act together until we were 7-2 down was what cost us in the end.
Good luck in the next round, BH - if you keep having it like last night, the trophy's yours
Pathetic earthlings. Hurling your bodies out into the void, without the slightest inkling of who or what is out there. If you had known anything about the true nature of the game, anything at all, you would've hidden from it in terror
I agree the table is not brilliant but there have been far worse out there and we all had to play on it. We really thought that last night was going to be a Cross Keys slaughter and never believed that we could not only win it but at one point almost denied you the extra 3 games before getting the final win. The icing on the cake was my wife turning up to see me pot the last two balls to take it ;)

For some reason your team just seemed to be spooked by the table and never recovered quick enough to stop the rot.

None of us in our team play regularly any more and only get to play a game of pool on the Sunday of a match. Yes we can play, but given that others play and practice all the time I very much doubt we will be lifting any trophies this year. Never say never though as although we don't play we can occasionally surprise so don't underestimate us :)
Wheatsheaf v Kennington A rearranged because Wheatsheaf couldn't get a team - only to now find out one of their players was playing in a Golden Cue qualifier
I think the Oracle may have something to say about this......

Maybe you should check your facts b4 you go off on one. The match was postponed due to us not having a team, with or without me.
Due to the County Finals being bigger and finishing later (I didn't know this until last week - normally It's over by 5pm so plenty of time to get back as in previous years) and the fact that 2 players where abroad I asked Sid if we could re-arrange it
If the Finals had finished as in previous seasons Marc Reynolds would have played in the Golen Cue instead of me, as it was he'd was playing in the 'C' Final. If either the A Team or Seniors had got to their respective Finals then none of us would have been back until approx 11pm. Bicester where aware of the possibilities of us not getting back but EPA only gave us 10 or so days in which to play it and Bicester seemed only willing to play at weekends
There was no underhand tactics with regards to postponing our match just to allow me to play in the Golden Cue match as Nick will confirm.
Finally, at the risk of repeating myself 3 million times, teams are under no obligation to re-arrange matches but obviously what goes around comes around. So if Sid had said no then we would have to have played with whoever we had available...

Please explain!!!!
Weren't you told earlier in the season you couldn't rearrange a game against us because you didn't have enough players and that not being a good enough excuse?

I have no problem with rearranging games, but not if it is to the detriment of our team on the new date. As it happens, we still may not have a team for this Wednesday as two who were going to play now cannot and reserves to come in are nowhere near as good - if they can play.

Yes, we only had two available dates to play the Golden Cue prelim game - last night or this coming Saturday.Saturday was a no goer due to Sheba entering a sneezing cat competition and myself being in Edinburgh.
Last week, Kevin had stated on several occasions he was going to play in the Abingdon Plate K/O match. However, when I picked Kevin up on Thursday morning he said that Sid had called off the Plate match and was available to play Sunday night.
If either the Mens A or Seniors had made it to the final last night, we probably would have let Sammy et al claim the EPA game.

Well I spoke to Sid yesterday and we'd agreed to allow himself and the 2 snooker players to play their frames straight away so they could go to their respective matches. That was the only concern Sid had. I'm quite happy to arrage it for another day if that helps even if, say Tuesday people need to play and go to Bar Billiards etc

Maybe but what has that got to do with this situation?
Team Knockout Semi-Finals (1st named team at home)
Fitzharris Arms vs Crown House Club (Oxford) or Oracle 'A'
Black Swan or Midget C vs Plough (Sutton Courtenay)
Team Knockout Plate Semi-Finals (1st named team at home)
Wheatsheaf (Didcot) vs Abingdon RBL
Crown 'A' (Marcham) vs Saxton Arms
