John O'Sullivan (JOS) RIP
Permalink Closed

Just to let you know, especially the older maturer pool players of the last Century, that our former collegue/teamate, friend and general nice guy Jos passed away last Wednesday at the age of 49, Jos had the dreaded 'C' for the last 10 years and it finally caught up with him. Jos was a former teamate of ours at the Corner House and The Swan, and in the mid 80's him and his fellow doubles partner Tony Beechers defeated John Day/Richard Hall in the Thursday League Doubles Final. Jos played the game as i suppose it should be in an entertaining and open manner, and was never one for the tactical safe game.
Jos is to be cremated on Fri 11th Feb at Mid-day followed by a gathering afterwards at the Quarry Gate where he had used as his local watering hole in recent years. Jos leaves behind his Wife Kate, and daughter Hannah and son Liam, we wish them all the best and add our condolences to them all including his Mum & Dad, sister's Maureen & Mel and younger brother Nelson. RIP Jos.

Thanks for letting us know, JD - a little before my time, but no doubt some of our longer serving players will remember him and be saddened by the news.

Very sad news indeed, I remember JOS very well and we had many battles over those early years.

My condolences go to his family and friends at this sad time, and also thanks for letting us know John.
