Dave Beech RIP
Permalink Closed

It's with great sadness I have to post that Dave was tragically killed on Sunday afternoon competing in his beloved banger racing.

Dave will be sadly missed by past and present members of the Somerset House Pool Team; and I’m sure by many of the people he played pool with and against over the last 15 years or so.

Dave was a true character and a very good friend.

RIP Beach

Nick Mansell

That is dreadful news Nick. We had some great matches over the years, and on behalf of my pool teams at Colours and the Magdalen, my sympathies are extended to his family and friends.

Ash.

Heard about this yesterday, very sad news. I knew him from pool and banger racing.

A really decent bloke who will be missed.

Sympathies to his family and friends from all at the Tandem

Very sad news. I don't think I knew him but my sympathy goes out to his family and friends.

Does anyone know Geoff Osling? He has played pool for Wales and lived in Oxford, not sure for how long but must be at least a couple of years. He worked at the Mitre in Oxford. He also sadly passed away on September 11th, don't know how though.

Very sad and tragic news.

My thoughts are with his family at this very difficult time.

Yes Hazel, I knew Geoff quite well as he was a member of my pool team a few years back and had started coming into Colours again rescently. It's not been a good month at all in that respect.

Was sorry to hear about Dave's Death and my thoughts go out to his two daughters and close family.

Dave was a big part in getting a group of us together to start playing for the Somerset House pool team back in 1996. We went on to have lots of success, with some great nights out and a group of friends has been formed as a result. Dave was always happy to provide the younger generation with advice and tips, both relating to pool and his other passion, cars.

The Somerset House will be a duller place without Dave around, but hopefully the people who played Pool, Darts, Aunt Sally and Cricket with him will keep his memory alive for a long time to come.
