The ladies wildcard has been given to Conny Meisenberg, who was the next highest ranked player over the season and top player at nationals, and only missed out on an automatic trial over the season by a couple of points.

So what your saying is lets say i wanted to trial for an england place at senior level i would be not be able to because i am not a county player at present.

So fred bloggs plays for CRAWLEY TOWN in the blue square premier and scores 100 goals in a season and england  manager wants to pick him to play for england. do you think because he plays non league hes not allowed to. Does that mean he isnt good enough.

what a load of crap lol politics politics

No doubt if the England Seniors Manager happens to pop along to the pub/club where you are dazzling the locals with your pool playing prowess he'll request an exception to be made.

All that's left is to decide which is more likely...

(1) The England Seniors Manager poping along to the pub/club where you are, or

(2) you dazzling the locals with your pool playing prowess, or

(3) Elvis making next years US Mosconi Cup team

Answers on a postcard...

Its not really about politics at all.

County is the feeder system for the England set up. You are supposed to progress to the higher levels i.e. England by doing well at local level, County. They are not two separate systems, they are intrinsicly linked.

And since one of the rules for retaining an england place is you are supposed to play 50% of the available county fixtures, you'd struggle to satisfy that requirement without playing county!

And isn't that how county and international cricket works too?
