Competition to be based on Group Stages with Group Winner and Group Runner Up progressing to Quarter finals and so on.

Quarters Best of 3, Semi's Best of 5, Final Best of 7 (may change on night due to number of entries but will be advised prior to start)

This format is dependant on numbers and may be subject to change on the night.

The groups will be selected at random once all entries have been received.

Group stage will be a round robin with each player playing one frame against each other.

In the even of a tie at the group stages the results of the players match will be taken into account and will be advised by the organisers.

It is hoped this will be finished by 11pm (youth players please note the late finish) although this does depend on the players wink

If you have any more questions please let me know.

Well done to Ben Scott for Winning the competition in a close final against Tom Gaughan.

Halloween Speed Pool

Saturday October 29th

Crown House Club

7.00pm sign up for 7.30pm Start

£2 entry per person to team event

50p entry per attempt on the Individual event

Fancy Dress Optional. There will be a prize for the best costume

Rules:

There will be two competitIons running at the same time, A team event which is a straight knockout, and a singles event which can be entered as many times as you like throughout the evening. The team event will take place in the main room over four tables (two per team). The individual event will take place on one of the tables in the small room. Competitions are only open to current blackball county players. The main objective of Speed Pool is to clear the rack as quickly as possible whilst observing the following rules:

TEAM EVENT:

1.       Teams of 3 players will be randomly selected from all entrants on the night.

2.       There will be a £2 entry charge per person.

3.       A random knockout draw will be done and teams will then compete at the same time as each other over four tables (two tables per team).

4.      Both teams will start at the same time. After the first player has cleared the balls on his/her table and touched the teams' other table with their hand, then the second player can start. The third player then starts when the second player has cleared the table and touched the other table with their hand. The winner will be the team whose third player finishes first.

5.       The player must not hit a cue ball whilst it is moving, but object balls can still be moving when hit.

6.       If the cue ball goes in-off then it must be allowed to run through the table mechanism and not picked out of the pocket.

7.       If the cue ball, or any other ball, leaves the table, the player must retrieve it. The cue ball should be placed anywhere behind the line for the next shot. An object ball should be placed on, or as near as possible to the black spot.

8.       A penalty will app should rules 4,5,6 or 7 not be adhered too, on each occasion. The referee will take the white ball and put it down a pocket with play not resuming until it runs through the table mechanism and the player has retrieved it.

9.       Balls can be potted in any order.

10.    The usual 'Blackball' rules about fouls when not hitting a ball, or a cushion are relaxed.

11.    Players will be responsible for racking their own balls.

12.    The competition will be played in a straight knockout format. The format may be subject to change on the evening depending on entry numbers at the OCPF committees discretion.

13.    Each match will have a referee, and the referees decision is final.

SINGLES EVENT:

1.       Open to all current blackball county players.

2.       There will be a 50p charge per person per attempt. A player may enter as many times as they like, but only one entry at a time is allowed so you may only re-enter after an attempt, and at the end of the entry list.

3.        A player will forfeit their place in the queue should they be required to play in the team event.

4.       Players will be responsible for racking their own balls.

5.       Balls can be potted in any order.

6.       The usual 'Blackball' rules about fouls when not hitting a ball, or a cushion are relaxed.

7.       The player must not hit a cue ball whilst it is moving, but object balls can still be moving when hit.

8.       If the cue ball goes in-off then it must be allowed to run through the table mechanism and not picked out of the pocket.

9.       If the cue ball, or any other ball, leaves the table, the player must retrieve it. The cue ball should be placed anywhere behind the line for the next shot. An object ball should be placed on, or as near as possible to the black spot.

10.    A penalty will app should rules 7.8 or 9 not be adhered too, on each occasion. The referee will take the white ball and put it down a pocket with play not resuming until it runs through the table mechanism and the player has retrieved it.

11.    The referee will time the clearance from the when the player plays their first shot after the break, and will stop timing when the final ball is potted.

12.    The winner will be the player with the quickest time (including any penalties) as at 10.30pm.

13.    The referees decision and their recorded finishing time for each attempt is final.

Any questions please let me know.

If you want to put your name down in advance just send me a text.

I look forward to seeing you all there.
