Yesterday at the crown house each of our home teams got within sniffing distance of taking 3 ponits only to just miss out in the end...
The C2 team lost 13-14 to Berkshire C in a last frame decider. 3/3 for Elliot Hooper in his first match for the men, as well as captain Jamie Power. Rob Wheeler also got 2/2.
Ladies A2 put up a great fight against Warwickshire ladies, just missing out on the win 10-11. Well done to Vicki Sullivan who got 3/3 in her first match the Oxfordshire!
Ladies A1 forged into the lead winning the first leg 5-2 against W Berks, only to throw the lead away in the second leg and just end up pipped to the post also 10-11. 2/2 for Claire and Jaz.
The Seniors A Team season got underway with a 18-7 win over Warwickshire A...

The C2 team beat West Berkshire 15 12. we lost the 1st leg 5.4, won the the 2nd leg 7.2, lost the 3rd 5.4 it was a great win for our C2 team, our first win of the season.
A horrific first leg (2 - 7) from Oxfordshire 'C' meant we were always trying to claw our way back into this game, which was made tougher by the fact we were playing on one table in the corner and couldnt even get round it as all the Warwickshire and Berkshire players were standing round. And the 2nd table we were given wasnt much better as it was right in front of the door for the toilets...shocking venue!
A 2nd leg win (5-4) meant we were 7 - 11 down and needed to win the final leg 7 - 2. After winning the first 2, Warwickshire quickly pegged us back to lead 13 - 9, before immense pressure dishes from M. Cooper, J. Eggleston, M. Emery and J. Saczak levelled the match at 13-13. Unfortunately, Lee Mac went in-off the break and didnt get another shot...lost 13 - 14!
i think jimbo got 3/3, altaf 2/3, kenny 1/3 and beefy 1/3. well played everyone that was a great result sorry bout my performance tho i was rubbish all afternoon. bring on the next game
Not a great day throughout, all the luck went their way!!!
stats were something like this
H. Ali 3/3 Rob Walker 2/3 Ady Fenemore 1/3 Jamie Power 1/3 Rob Wheeler 1/3 Shane Watson 1/2 Andy Moss 1/3 Rob Ford 0/2 Laura Street 0/2 Brian Mccallister 0/3
a derby match against our C team next, could be interesting!!
Yes I only got 1 this time which I was happy with given I had two shots in the first frame, was in trouble in the second which I managed to win thanks to his mistakes at the end but very dissapointed to lose the last one when I had him in all sorts of trouble until a lucky screw shot sent one of his balls in amongst mine and followed up by a lucky snooker as well.
We were definitely were fighting the run of the balls all day so this made the victory even sweeter.....

Shot of the day was Niki skill shot from her last red when the black was half way up the side rail and knocked into it only to see it go in the botttom pocket to complete a break and dish - i believe.

Suppose I'll put our result in although the forum seems to have died a very tragic death...
Oxfordshire 'D' 8 - 19 Oxfordshire 'C'
Stand-in Manager Kenny Saunders rallied the troops to record a fine 19 - 8 win against our county rivals Oxfordshire 'D'. The match never really looked in doubt and the 'C's recorded legs wins of 3-6, 2-7 and 3-6 to wrap up a convincing win and push us closer to the top of the table.
Thank you to Matty Hearne and Frankie Merola for standing in as we were short again (not the first time and wont be the last time). It really is never dull in the C team with depleted squads, points deductions etc...!
