I have heard rumors that: Richard Lamburn, Julian Wood, Ricky Clarke, Jimmy C, Nathan Ball, Danny Ganter, and Paul Watson have qualified, but no Tom Weeks and Shaun Taylor, Graham Hornblow, Paul Charlett and Pete Timms ALL though need to be confirmed from those above.
Everyone will be please to know I got back in Julian Wood didn't

A big well done to those who did get through with a personal congrat from me to Ash and Mark Trafford. Maybe next year for me? As a first time playing the black ball rules I think it is a big improvement on the game play. I wish you all the best of luck in the new season.
I heard Dave Lewis was sniffing around there too. I feel sorry for the people he beat in qualifiying as I doubt very much he has any plans on turning up to the matches.
Well if thats true its a shame but he did not complete the matches as he had to leave after 4 i believe on 2 - 2 at around 5ish for work !

It was a long day with most people who got in having to play 9 frames I beleive and win 6 or more which is an indication of how difficult it was. There where a few shocks and nasty eliminators along the way.
Tom weeks crashed and burned - shame
Nathan and Shaun in a final eliminator knocking shaun out -shame
Thats the luck of the draw in the swiss system though.
Well done to the people who got in yesterday...... see you all soon

not a prob shaun, chatting to ming the past few weeks has made me change my style of play ever so slightly (no, not more defensive) but im not dropping many frames lately and i think the blackball rules are brilliant! so we'll just see what happens.

You are right, it was a long day, especially for those of us there from the start!!
Tom Weeks "Crashed and burned"??!! .......... I would call it unlucky from what I saw and think most people who were watching his last game would agree. Ask Watty (who played him) whether he "Crashed and burned".
It is a shame though, because I don't think many people would doubt that he would of strengthened the squad.
You really need to choose your words more carefully Beefy, because with comments like that, It doesn't really encourage him to come along next year to kick your ass does it??!!
Lee crashed and burned was merely a term used to say he went out against expectations and he wasn't the only one that I thought would get in that went out. I for one expected him to get in even with the competition that was there for trials this year.
I would have to say it was the best turnout we have had for a long time and with a lot of very good players showing support for the county selection system and enthusiasm to play in the coming season.
If the trend continues over the next couple of years we will have a very succesful squad and a lot of good players knocking on the door. May be even enough to put in a C side like Berkshire did last year.

I would be all for putting a "C" side in next year, we certainly have enough decent players to do it
That depends, i would think, on whether there's a space for it as i was under the impression that Berkshire C were taking the place of Somerset B? Something for Shelley to investigate.
But certainly with 53 trialists it's a good idea. Even possibly another Youth or Ladies team

I wonder how many other counties would be interested if a "C" league was started ???

Greetings infidels, have you missed me I see my all conquering Al-Qaeda team has whipped your zionist arses in your leagues, and are now infiltrating your county teams. Pitty i was conducting overseas operations otherwise i would've lead you out of the wilderness and into the promised land. The end is nigh for you infidel dogs. I will be victorious!
