Following the success of the recently formed I.P.T (american 8-ball), rumours are circulating the shot nomination rule is to be added to all uk 8-ball rules.

Therefore i would like to offer my condolences to the Beefy family as Keith will now have to retire

I think shot nomination over complicates the game. On american pool tables i can see why it's used. The pockets are big enough as it is, so anyone fluking a ball should be penalised.

yes, it takes an element of luck out of the game, but there are more ways to get lucky than by potting.

Maybe they should make fluking a snooker a foul aswell.

Bring it on I say, I have no problem nominating in matches when I am  over in the USA. The only difference is if you fluke a ball and don't call it its the opponents go but NO FOUL.... a fair compromise I think.

Easy solution Red Ball (at the start you have seven) in the Corner Pocket (there are four of them too)...
