Hard luck is an understatement this time.

We had a fantastic first leg going 7 - 2 up followed by a second leg narrow loss of 4 - 5 leaving the score at 11 - 7 going into the last leg.

Adam completed a 3/3 with his win and Malc followed up making 2 /3 for him giving us the dream start winning 2 of the first 3 making it 13 - 8 leaving 6 to play with one frame required.

Slowly the frames went by and I said to max this is coming down to us being the last two both on 2/2 at that point.

I played 8th lost the lag only to watch my opponent break and clear in some style on a table that had not been kind to the breaker all day. The balls once again didn't split well but he managed to pot one and worked his way with some nice cuts, plants and cannons to spring his balls open in what was a really good clearance so down to Max on last.

Max dug in well as the frame went tactical but trying to cover a pocket he knocked an opponents ball in giving two shots. Once again some good play by his opponent developing the balls that were difficult and suddenly the unthinkable was becoming a reality a run of 6 straight losses giving them the match.

Highlights for us

Adam 3/3
Malcolm, Keith and Max all 2/3
(4 other players one frame each)

3/3 Malcolm Lewis, Chris Smith (despite using someone else cue after his tip came off midway through the second)

2/3 Keith Hollis (3rd leg Jinx struck again furious), Katie Challen, Steve Lakeman

Think everyone else got 1 frame

Somerset A have now withdrawn from A section.  With those results involving them voided, the latest A table looks like this as far as I can tell.

http://www.bnc.ox.ac.uk/news/CountyRankings0708.xls

Oxfordshire9721361072921
West Berks752107822515
Hampshire752103861715
Berkshire7439396-312
Wiltshire71680109-293
Bristol70775124-490

Remaining Fixtures

Oxford
- Bristol (H)
W Berks - Hamps (A), Berks x2 (H + A)
Berks - W Berks x2 (H+A), Hamps
Hamps - W Berks (H), Berks + 1 other

A big win sunday and Oxford should win the Region - a hell of an achievement given that horrific first match of the season loss to Berkshire!!

Why is that then the C team play the same opponents as the B team ! Hey don't knock it having Malcolm in the C team is doing some good for the development players in my opinion. They can watch a seasoned England player playing county and might just learn a few things here and there.

Lets face it most people either can or can't play the attacking potting game so having the option to watch a percentage player has to be a benefit to those players in the long run.

, check me out, i can use any old bat aint it malc yeah man.
I lagged and my tip came off,

No I would say you need to get your eyes tested so you notice when the tip comes off biggrinbiggrin nice Ł3.50 you spent thereand lost the tip as well. Who did put that tip on for you confused

still i get dropped one week and bang in a 3/3 next week

Proves what a good choice it was bringing you in for that game.

, only played 17 frames and have the 3 highest average in the B2 side, not bad for water wings eh bj

But have you played the weaker sides still not bad going keep it up !

Still its all about younggun, i will get dropped next match lol.

Looking at the table would suggest 19-20pts should do it

Oh dear it does seem like someone was jealous, notice how you neva commented on my last part of my comment, yeah shows what a poor decision it was to drop me or the game before though surely, (steve that was not a dig at you mate honest).
Well it doesn matter who you play the stas speak for themselves, i aint blowin my own trumpet jus enjoyin my victory.
Question i am sure you can answer beefy:
If its a development squad why are you in there???
Yeah its great to have him there i suppose, but only makin a point which is quite correct considerin malc is good enough to play for the a's??
It would be like droppin bally or kev to the c team?????
But it jus sounds like sours grapes to me, but i will give you credit mate, you TALK a good game!!!!!

As per usual, there's an awful lot of crap being spouted about who plays where and where they think they should/should not be...

But as
I said to JFK and Steve today, the point everyone is missing is that you are playing for OXFORD!
It doesn't matter which team... Play where you're needed... You should be proud you've got the shirt, and you do the best you can, whichever team you're put in! SQUAD effort, no questions asked!

All that matters really methinks...

You've started so why not explain why you think everything is not right, and why OCPF is corrupt - let people make their own minds up. Surely there is justification behind your feelings?

That's fine, but if there is something you wish to complain about i suggest you email me or John and get it of your chest.

Certainly there's issues that i'm not happy about, but the only place that these will be sorted out is at the AGM (10th Feb). Wether or not people like it, that's the system.

Things that are new to us often take a season or two to settle down and for the county as a whole to realise that perhaps things could have been done differently. Unfortunately, if we realise that half way through the season, there's very little we can do as we'd be accused of now favouring the people who complained about the it in the first place.

Might know you'd pipe up.

What the hell can you not be happy with ... after the 'you are bothered and want to play' to us, whilst making it clear on this forum you are only interested in your 51% -you've got your precious 51% and what you needed out of the season. You even only needed to play away twice out of your 7 matches!! What more do you want? Helicopter transport? Expenses?

Here we go!!

Its amazing what a wink and a pencil graphic can bring out of a person.

Did I say that I was not happy with something .. NO No

But YOU do know what Im not happy with John dont you. wink "not another wink"

Percentages seem to be a thing with you dont they, well to give everybody a clue on this forum I would play if possible and selected 100% of the matches next season if only one thing changed any idea JFK.

so  Pencil 's & wink's  all round.

P.S. Thanks for  Chatty 2 mate.  biggrin

So why Edit Ming's thread, and put things in bold and larger font, with I'm in red.

Yes I can see where the  Confused confusion is, so maybe there is that ONE thing that I would like changed, was expecting it at last years AGM but never happened. (I think that surprised someone as well)

So to summarise Ming, the apprentice, and myself have issues then.

Is there a venue and a starting time for the AGM on February 10th 2008 ?.

You are entertaining ... i'll give you that.yawn

NO Malc ... you'd play if it was run your way ... for you ... like it was 5 years ago ... when we even folded half way through a season .... noone really gave a sh*t, turn up if you can be bothered and eligibility for the A's was determined by if you played for the Osney or if an Osney 'contract' was pending. Lol

Yep, I've got a fair few things wrong but I've always had the interest of the county at heart.

I can sympathise though ... under the old system you were paid to go to Nationals ... no wonder you don't bother now biggrinbiggrin

Anyway, not interested in your games ... I've got work to do.

Glad we got that sorted, If it was something you were expecting was going to change last year, then there is a good chance it takes 2 years for your change to happen, so see you at the AGM in 2009, Glad we got you on side till then at least.
