Yup, 18th November!

Usual start time, however on behalf of Emma, a slight correction, this round is to be played BEST OF FIVE and not Best of Three as posted previously.

Emma is emailing the captains but please feel free to spread the word to avoid confusion.

As there are seven matches to be played at the Crown House on two tables it would be beneficial to all playing there to try to start earlier than 8pm so please some of you arrange amongst yourselves to meet early.

Tom.

So are all the league games meant to start at 8pm as well or is this just for competitions with us being new to this league ?

So far I have heard 8.15pm and even 8.30pm from various sources - please confirm TOM/EMMA ?

Officially it is 8.30pm but for venues with more than one match due to be played on one table sense would indicate meeting a bit earlier.

Thanks for the update but thats not quite the answer I was looking for as you do not say if that is the start time for league matches / competitions or everything as I originally asked ?

Nathan Ball 3-2 Andrew Gee

Not a bad result seeing as i had argubaly the best player in oxford, and quite pleased with the break and dish i done in the second frame to make it 1-1 but have to admit was very lucky to win the fourth to make it 2-2 think i got away with bad shots 3 times i a row, but in the last frame nathan didnt give me a decent chance so fair play to him but overall fairly pleased with the way i played.

other results:

Charlie bishop 2-3 Michael Keady
Peter Debanks C-No show D Beecham
James Watson 1-3 Mark Trafford

I think a few might disagree with you there about Nathan being "argubaly" confused or argueably the best player in Oxford.

Yeah, i lost 3-1 but i played ok (for once!!), I went 1-0 down but levelled the scoree because mark rattled a difficult black. i went 2-1 down after covering th pocket with my red but resulted in the white going in. Last frame i didn't get a shot as he dished from the break so i couldn't do nothing about that. Overall i was pretty happy with my performance.

Tom are results posted on here good enough.

Sid and I have rearranged, Greg and Isty rearranged with Emma's Permission. I believe Ray and Steve Lakeman also rearranged their game.

Especially given that he lost to The Grinder last monday night. It would have been a poor couple of results against female competition had Jaz won it!

As I'm not the Secretary it's not my decision!  I expect Emma will post a message if posting results on the forum is good enough.

Until such time however, I suggest you do what normally happens when someone wants to submit a result and text her.

I was informed by my captain, who i believe was informed by the A1 captain, earlier in the evening that my opponent would not be turning up as he didn't play anymore. I was also informed that the proper offical had been informed of my walkover.

As i'm not aware of any rule stating that i must appear if i already know that my opponent won't be appearing due to whatever reason.

Personally, i think it's very courteous of him to bother to ring Malc and inform him of this saving me the wasted journey, otherwise i'd have been there

I think the issue was that the chances of you getting back from Blackpool to play your game was quite slim.  No issues I am not getting into forum politics.  Well done through to the next round.

Yes a very good win for Mark against a quality opponent, and the bonus of a free passage into the last 16 due to the bye.

Any news/update on those other 2 rearrange matches Isty/Steve ?.
