The 2007/8 OCPF County Singles Championships will be held at Colours Pool Club, St Ebbes Street, Oxford on the weekend 9th-10th February 2008.
Anyone who has played for Oxfordshire (Blackball) County in the 2007/8 season is eligible to enter the appropriate event. The Ladies and Youth events will take place on Saturday 9th February; Registration 12noon, Start 12.30pm. The Mens event will take place immediately following the AGM on 10th February; Registration 12.30pm, start 1pm (approx).
All Events - Best of 5 Double-Elimination
Entry Fee (all events) £5
*The highest placed non-retained player in each event will automatically be retained in the county squad for the 2008/9 season
*Conditional on a minimum number of entries; Mens =16, Ladies & Youth = 8.If a player retained in this way attains the relevant retention criteria at the CountyFinals, then the next highest placed player will receive this place. In the event of a tie, a play-off will be arranged between the relevant players.

I am surprised no one has put the results up on the website yet.
The format was a double eliminator so you could lose once but twice and you were out.
The draw threw up some juicy first round games with Kevin playing Nathan whichw as probably the highlight. Kevin then faced Keiron in the losers half after I beat him 3 - 1. There is always the luck of the draw in these events but some certainly had it easier than others.
When I left around 7pm on sunday Matty had won the winners half and was playing Nathan (winner from the losers half) who he had beaten in the final of the winners side.
I think Sean was the furthest non retained player losing to Marcus in the Semi's of the losing half after beating scooby in his last 8 match.
