Fortunately, we are not relying on the regular Osney players to win.
Also i'll be taking extra anti-alzeimer drugs so i should remember how to pot.
No doubt the students will join me?

I was wondering when someone would realise he couldn't play as he is involved in the nationals trials also on Saturday. I am only surprised you didn't spot that when you put the post up as the list of people involved in the national trials has been posted on here a while now.

It will be interesting to see whether the two Town players who lost will magically get retained for the squad for next years match.
I posted this after last years match result, and I'm not in the least bit surprised to see the two players who did lose, Jimmy Millar and Jamey Street, are in this years squad.

lol I knew this would come up from you Ash, (ask Jimmy) but due to other players not being able to make it, (i.e. last years winners Richard Day, and Lee Challis, and also Jimmy Cairns more than legible to compete to name just a few) I have been allowed by the sports council after several conversations with them to include them again this year. (again ask Jimmy when he was invited to confirm)
You see its not as YOU seem to think it is.
P.S. I am proposing that one (previous years losers) of the "there is only 2" rules be lifted for any future Town v Gown encounters.

Do you want to know the answer now (12 months in advance) or just before the team is picked next February.

The 4 losers (including myself) WILL be included (if available) in the squad for selection in the 2009 TOWN team.
That's fine then. Thanks for the clarification - as long as I know that there's not a fair selection process in place for determining the 'town' team, I shant bother expressing an interest to you in playing in it, as I did after last years event.
I shall leave it up to others to decide whether they think that's the best way of organising the tournament or not. No big deal, but I have to say I'm a little disappointed.

Didn't you see the Town captains posting about getting that rule removed before the match started
I have to say Jamey and Jimmy were on the fire in their two matches and you could count the total missed pots on one hand by both of them in the frames they played.
I would say thats the best I have seen Jimmy play for quite some time his opponent didn't stand a chance. Putting Jimmy and Jamey on when they were 2 - 1 down was a masterstroke but leaving Kevin till last I am not so sure after the way he was tipping pints down at colours.
Ming's death ray must have suffered from a rare stroke of blurred focus.
