Just for a small bet I have done 1st round betting on.

Ding Junhui Chn v Marco Fu HK
Stephen Hendry Sco v Mark Allen NIbiggrin.gif
Ali Carter Eng v Barry Hawkins Engbiggrin.gif
Peter Ebdon Eng v Jamie Cope Engfurious.gif
Neil Robertson Aus v Nigel Bond Engbiggrin.gif
Steve Davis Eng v Stuart Bingham Eng
Graeme Dott Sco v Joe Perry Eng.

things were all ready looking bad this afternoon with Hendry 3-6 down, But Carter won 10-9, only for Ebdon to pip Cope 10-9, Oh well.
What a comeback from Hendry to win 10-9

This kid is playing well against Ronnie.
Having said that, Ronnie is missing some easy balls, should be an interesting match

1/4 final draw as it looks now.

Ryan Day Wal v Stephen Hendry Sco
Ronnie O'Sullivan Eng v Joe Swail NI or Liang Wenbo Chn
Ali Carter Eng v Peter Ebdon Eng
Stephen Maguire Sco v Stuart Bingham Eng or Joe Perry Eng

Ronnie now has made 9 147 breaks and looks odds on to make semi final, It would be nice to see Hendry play Ronnie in semi.
Maguire you would also fancy to make Semi, Carter is playing well but Ebdon you can never rule out finding some form, which i'm sure will keep God happy

Just looked at the video of the break and the positional play to move the second last red was quite something. The commentator called it the best positional shot he had ever seen.

Here is the link

That was a great shot to move the red out and the 1st couple of blacks were not easy either. Ronnie is slowing down in his old age. That break was done in about 8mins 40secs. LOL
That was the 3rd 147 quickest of all time. Ronnie as now done 9 and holds the record as Hendry as only done 8

The best 147 I ever see was Hendry years back playing Ronnie. Hendry was leading I think 8-2 Ronnie got back to 8-8 then Hendry hit 147 and won match and final

Ryan Day Wal v Stephen Hendry Sco
Ronnie O'Sullivan Eng v Liang Wenbo Chn
Ali Carter Eng v Peter Ebdon Eng
Stephen Maguire Sco v Joe Perry Eng

Just watched the ending of the Joe Swail v Liang Wenbo match, What a ending, Liang celebrating at 12-10 only for Swail to get a snooker and pinch the frame. Then either player had plenty of chances to win last frame, just as Swail look like nicking it he missed what seem to be a simple Brown and Liang got the win. Liang v Ronnie might be a good watch, Liang takes so many chances I've seen him try a 4 ball plant at 1 stage today, if it goes wrong Ronnie will walk away with it

The Swail/Wembo match was absolutely gripping.

Think it would've crushed Wembo and his future chances of doing well had he lost in such a fashion.  You watched him going from cheerful to getting gradually more and more devastated - it was hard to watch.  I'm glad he stumbled over the line in the end, but Swail deserved it too after such a fightback, and played much the better snooker in the last few frames.

Neither holds a candle to Ronnie, and Wembo I'm sure will be out next round.

mind you, a little bookie (nathan) told me that the last time ronnie and wembo met it was
10-3 to wembo so it may not be such a dead cert...????

I was watching the end on Eurosport and Mike Hallet was commentating and the words he used to describe the shot on the Yellow sums up what Steve is saying about the kids game.

He fears no shots, takes huge risks and that yellow last night in the final frame should have cost him ! Celebrates early oh the joys of youth !

Ronnie will make short work of it I give Liang 8 frames max unless his high risk play comes off !
