An update on the results of the recent World Championships at Bridlington! Please add if I've forgotten things!
Oxfordshire were represented by: Jaz Venning Alex LaVia Shelley White Jamie Saczak and Malcom Lewis.
Jaz and Alex were on the Ladies 11 person team which won the B team World Championship, easing to victory past Wales 17-6 in the final. Following a strong performance throughout the week, not losing a single match, the England B1 team were favourites and romped to victory in some considerable style.
The England ladies A team in a separate A team event came runner-up, losing out to Scotland in the final.
The England Mens A got as far as the Semi Final.
Mens B - I think both teams just missed out on a spot in the Semi.
The England Mens Seniors won their final to become World Champions. An improvement on their position at the group stage where they had finished second. Well done Malc!
Jamie perhaps you can fill in some detail on the youth, but I think it was as follows:
England Under 21s - runner up - losing in the final 17-15
England Under 18's (Jamie's team) - runner up - losing in the final.
England Juniors - Won 17-16 from 16-10 down!!!
Jamie Saczak also did well in the doubles (was it the quarters or the semi?) and got to the final in the three-man team!
Jaz Venning got to the last 16 in the main ladies singles event, losing out to the eventual winner.
Alex la Via won a ladies flier with 32 entrants, after a winning run including a break and dish in the semi!
Shelley, Alex and Jaz all made the required percentage for retention in the England team, and will play again next year without retrial. Though Alex of course will now be representing from W.Berkshire.
The England Mens Seniors won their final to become World Champions. An improvement on their position at the group stage where they had finished second. Well done Malc!
Lol - sounds like an ideal team for 'Old Man' Millar to play in too...

Sorry to say that Jim gave up his Southern Ireland place a few years ago.

And yes we finished equal top with Scotland on 14 points each from the 8 games but 2nd overall on frame difference.
But we got our revenge
