Going 5 - 2 in the first leg the last two players Jex and John dug in and brought the leg back to 5 - 4 .
Their finish to the first leg was matched with the first 5 of the second leg winning to take 7 frames in a row and a lead of 9 - 5 only to watch Berkshire dig in and win the next 4 in a row to make it all square at 9 each.
Ash continued his strategy of changing the order which had worked well at the start of the second leg inthe second leg in the 3rd leg as well. This time the approach appeared to have failed as we took one of the first 5 meaning we were facing a 13 - 10 deficit from leading 9 - 5. Then the masterstroke of the order kicked in as the remaining 4 players slowly but surely pulled oxford back in to it. The highlight for me was an 8 ball clearance in the poenultimate frame after my oponent went in off the break. This was the same player I had broke and dished at nationals a month earlier .
So it came down to Johnny I going to drink the bar dry of cider was up last. Johnny C played a very good tactical game and had the frame dominated early on and the opposition were now concerned as they feared defeat from a 13-10 lead. Johny finished the frame escaping a snooker to pot his ball in the jaws and land perfectly on the black Game to us 14 - 13
Ben got 3/3 Several got 2/3

Well done to the B's, espesc Johnny Cider for clinching the final frame against Berkshire! I gather this was after a ridiculous number of pints, not that it showed! Obv from the Ming school of pool.
It was exciting stuff, with Oxford needing all of the last 4 frames to win, and Ash PL, Graham, Hollis & John pulled out all the stops to deny Berkshire the win.
Well done to Benny for winning 3/3... even though it meant he didn't win a tenner off JFK!! Very noble

Ooops Beefy beat me to the punch. Must type faster...
Oxford Youths 'A' returned home with nothing after a tense clash with rivals Berkshire. A good first leg saw Oxford take a 4-3 lead, with wins from Rhys, Jamie, Luke and Peter. But Berkshire hit back by winning the next leg 4-3, to level the scores at 7-7, with wins coming from Rhys, Jamie and Peter. Oxofrd went 8-7 up after Adam won, but Berkshire won the next three to leave Oxford a huge task of coming from 10-8 down. A win from myself managed to pull one back, but Berkshire claimed the last two to win the leg 5-2 and the match 12-9.
A close game, which really should have been Oxford's win, too many chances went begging and we got punished.
Andrew Gee 0/3 (after 2 out of 3 in the mens!) Rhys Freemire 2/3 Adam Poole 1/2 Yousif Shahab 0/2 (after 3 out of 3 in the mens!) Jamie Saczak 3/3 Luke Ingram 1/3 Peter DeBanks 2/3 Tom Hooper 0/2
A convincing win in the first first leg saw Oxford B1's go 7-2 up
Winning in the first leg for Oxford B1's was Ash Fletcher, Nick Mansell, Shaun Taylor, Ben Scott, Keith Hollis losing to Kenny Saunders making it 4-1 to us, but getting back into things, Lee Brown-John, Kevin McIlroy, Dave Crawford winning theirs, John Street lost making the final score for the 1st leg 7-2 to us
Oxford B1 were not so convincing in the second leg
With wins from Ben Scott, Keith Hollis, Kevin McIlroy, Lee Brown-John and John Street. Losing in the second leg was Ash Fletcher, Nick Mansell, Shaun Taylor, Dave Crawford. An unconvincing 5-4 see Oxford B1 still in the lead 12-6.
Oxford B2 found their strength in the third leg to win it 4-5
Winning for B1's was Lee Brown-John, Keith Hollis, Dave Crawford and a break dish from John Street to finish off the match. Losing was Ben Scott, Kevin McIlroy, Nick Mansell, Shaun Taylor and Ash Fletcher, making the final score for the match 16-11 to us.
Great game with a 3 out of 3 for Lee Brown-John well done mate!!
Two out of three for Ben Scott, Keith Hollis, Kevin McIlroy, Dave Crawford and John Street.
A very bad start to a tough match playing a very strong Oxford B1 side cost the B2's.
The 1st leg flashed by with only 2 wins for the B2's Kenny Saunders breaking and dishing playing Keith Hollis, Then Dave Lakeman winning the last leg. 2-7 down
The 2nd leg started off better with wins for Sean Ling and Andrew Gee, but only 2 more wins from Graham Hornblow and Dave Lakeman means the leg is lost 5-4 and now 6-12 down.
The 3rd Leg gets off to a better start winning 4 out of the first 5 frames with wins from Andrew Gee, Yousif Shahab, Will Cooper and then Graham Hornblow wins for the 2nd time in 2 legs playing Shaun Taylor both times. but the fight back is then finished when Keith Hollis wins for the B1's, Kenny Saunders then wins another frame before John Street break and dishes against Dave Lakeman to finish the match last leg won 5-4 but final score is 16-11 lost
Kenny Saunders, Dave Lakeman Andrew Gee and Graham Hornblow finish with 2/3
Sean Ling, Will Cooper and Yousif Shahab get 1/3.
Ryan Wall makes his debut with 0/3 and Jamie Saczak, Adam Poole and Peter Debanks get 0/1 from there single frames
A convincing win in the first first leg saw Oxford B1's go 7-2 up
Winning in the first leg for Oxford B1's was Ash Fletcher, Nick Mansell, Shaun Taylor, Ben Scott, Keith Hollis losing to Kenny Saunders making it 4-1 to us,

You know the rules Malc everyone will get dropped at some point in the season with the cap in place this year. May be the manager thought your services would be better used in other games

The full story........YOU did not win the lag.........end of story....
I know it was mentioned at Squad Day and I think it was also discussed at the aGm because of the huge gap in games for the respective teams 10 A team fixtures and 16 B/C fixtures

There was me being nice and pointing out that Kenny won via a break and dish and all I get in return is "You should have won the Lag !"

I know it was mentioned at Squad Day and I think it was also discussed at the aGm because of the huge gap in games for the respective teams 10 A team fixtures and 16 B/C fixtures Unfortunately I was unavailable for both of those meetings.
