Well done to the Oxford Ladies yesterday - another victory in the bag One step closer to regional domination - come on the girls!!!!
Not 100% certain of the final score but I think it was 16-5. Though not the strongest opposition, there were some tough battles in some of the frames.
Well done to those gaining 3/3s: Lorren (your first 3/3 I think??? congratulations!!!) Shelley Steph Jaz
Tho I did my best to chump my last frame by nearly potting the black in the middle of it. Thankfully it just stayed up on the lip of the pocket. Why is it that I often seem to send the black perilously close, and frequently in, in the middle of county frames
The B's also came home with a win which I think seals their Selsey place, but sadly I'm unable to say the same for the As, who now face an uphill struggle to make it to Selsey this year Come on guys you can do it!!!
Are the County squad struggling to get players to play ? It looks like people can now play even if they are not eligable.
NOT struggling as far as Im concerned Peter, as I was given less than 24 hours to play but I made it there, and I am not sure if I was the last choice.

They think it's all over - IT IS NOW(Kenneth "LUCKY" Wolstenhome)
JFK never quit the county squad - just stepped down from his position on the committee.
Same for Steve. His contribution to the B2s has been pretty decent this season, and I think it would be unreasonable to exclude him from the rest of the seasons games just because he has stood down from his post.
We are now more than half way through the season - there is just no point making an issue out of this. Furthmore I think Steve's had more than his fair share of agro lately and could do without any more.
Naturally next season he will need to requalify just like anyone else.
As for the squad being short of players for the odd fixture - in accordance with standard county practice any vacancies unfilled from the qualifed mens squad will be filled from within the wider squad. i.e. youth and ladies. Of which there are plenty, both willing and able!!
Both John & Steve put a lot into their respective roles in the running of the OCPF, John especially for many years. These positions require a lot of unseen work and organising which isn`t always appreciated.
John may have stepped down from his position on the Committee but is still able to play due being retained last year having reached the required level, however Steve wqas not retained last year, did not trial, and only qualifies to play due to his status as B2 Manager. As he has now resigned from that post then surely he not longer qualifies to play.
A number of players get their place in the side due to various reasons; committee, internationals etc.
Once they have made the side then i believe it's only fair that they are entitled to see out the current season especially as it's already started. Alternatively the committee could ask a non-county player to fill in when short, but lets face it. you'd moan about that too.
And NO! I don't believe it's in the constitution, SO THERE!!!

Why should they have to use non-county players when, as has been stated there are plenty of youths & ladies who are willing and able. I understand that the reason Steve resigned was all the s*%t he was getting for playing himself and not using other available players. It really takes the p**s that the first match after him resigning he gets picked to play while the whole youth team are available due to their game being postponed.
I understand that the reason Steve resigned was all the s*%t he was getting for playing himself and not using other available players.
How can you understand, I stood down because of all the **** being said about myself playing, I have never stated that point and have not talked to any one about standing down, so I dont understand where that comment has come from, that was not the reason for why I resigned and I would not of resigned for that point alone at this point of the season.
From what I understand, not that any body have spoken to myself in the correct manner, The major problems started from a home match a few months back, when selecting players for the Berkshire B match, I picked players from the whole squad, I made a choice as Manager, after a committee meeting was held and taking in a few points from that meeting, to leave 2 players that had been playing B2 games regularly out of the side because of the 14/16 game rule, those 2 players were both at home and able to play and I also did not select another 2 from the squad who were also playing a youth game that same day, who could of doubled up on the day.
The problems seem to happen afterwards because of these events, People had issues with what team was selected for that match, but nobody spoke to me about the choices that day and nobody who has made massive comments on this forum to this day has spoken to me. There are people out there that seem to think they missed a chance to play, when instead the 2 that had the right to complain didnt say a thing. Then the events which followed that match and then the events around the match between B1 & B2, where again there are people that did not talk or communicate with myself correctly meant, I stood down because of the miss communication that was going on and because of the effects of people who said and did things that did not follow the correct procedures of the OCPF, these are the reasons for my standing down, it had nothing to do with my playing status.
Now either your point is a personal attack at me, (which I dont think it is) or a point about the rules. If it is about the rules and you would like something added or changed in the constitution then please contact the OCPF though the correct channels so things can be addressed at the AGM in March of 2009 and can I also ask to be kept out of any further postings to do with the OCPF. The selection of myself by the managers and the comments made by the OCPF committee members have made it clear of the stance of my playing status for the rest of the 2008/2009 season. I will not turn down a chance to play for OCPF and if selected by the managers I will play. I would also like to ask that someone from the OCPF committee, realise a statement of what is happening with things till the next AGM, so people understand what is happening and everyone can concentrate on achieving the best results for the rest of the 2008/2009 season. Thanks

Firstly, you obviously know when the youth match was cancelled? i only new on Sunday and i might add, so did some others, including possibly the captains who may have selected the teams before the cancelation?
Secondly, not all the youth players are suitable replacements for the Mens' team due to their inexperience and age
Thirdly, perhaps Steve was asked to drive (no doubt you know the answer to this already)
Fourthly, the senario where a possibilty of non-county players being used could've happened on Sunday as the B2's were away whilst everyone else was at home therefore the ladies/youth doubling up wouldn't have been possible. Depending on availability there could well have been a shortage of players
Finally, as Steve said in his post; there's proper channels to go through if you feel you have a valid complaint about anything

Steve this was not an attack at You pesonally and I appolagise it it has offened You in any way.
I was at the home games on Sunday and the morale among the players seemed low and the atmosphere not good either.
I have spoken to a few people / players who it seems want something said but either don`t want to or are unwilling to do it themselves. What dissapoints me the most is that these people moan about thing between themselve and to me but when they have the chance to have their say they havn`t got the ba**s when it comes to it.
Finally, as Steve said in his post; there's proper channels to go through if you feel you have a valid complaint about anything
In the future when these people moan I will advise them to contact the Manager / Captain

I was told that the youths knew of their cancelation on Saturday
Thirdly, perhaps Steve was asked to drive (no doubt you know the answer to this already)
Forget the trials next year just check drivers licence

Surely with 4 teams at home this would make it easier for players to play for both the mens A/B & Youths / Ladies

All players were given a handbook which explains what to do if they've got a complaint though no doubt, these moaners never bothered to read it. I've no time for these tossers who complain via 3rd parties because this is where; who said what to whom, leads to the crap that Steve/John received.
I was told that the youths knew of their cancelation on Saturday
So in other words, after the teams had been selected. Surely unfair for someone to be de-selected?

As per usual, you miss the point. Who can drive is one of the considerations the captains take into account when selecting the teams. No doubt you'd pick a team without drivers for an away match...doh!

Your initial gripe was concerning the B2 team who where away, so how could youth/ladies double up for that team if at home, or is it that you're moving the goalposts to suit your stance
