A Team Lost I think 15 - 12.... anyone know the exact score
B Team won a thrilling match 14 - 13 needing the last 4 frames for victory
Oxford got off to a good start being 3 - 2 up before surrendering the last 4 frames to be 6 - 3 down. The second leg continued as we slumped to 10 - 5 down before winning 5 on the spin to level at 10 - 10. Then the good old food came out and we promptly lost the next 3 to go 13 - 10 down. The team dug in with wins from Andrew, Myself, Doris and Tom to win 14 - 13. My frame threatened to be the last as it tunred into one of those Beefy epic's but then came to a quick conclusion once I had two shots from the opponent.
Keiron was up last but finished his frame before Tom's which I think he was greatful for as the supporters gathered from the A side with some great support but also some unecessary comments as well.
Thanks for the support guys.
B2 Team lost but not sure of the score
Ladies lost what turned out to be a best of 3 match as the scores were level at 9 - 9 with the final score being 11 - 10 to Hampshire.
Oxford B1 go from strength to strength topping their section as Hampshire slump to a surprise defeat at West Berkshire. Johnny Cider leading the region.
Oxford A thrown an unlikely lifeline as Bristol lose another crucial fixture. However, success does actually mean winning the odd match but it is still in their own hands.
Oxford Youth also leading the region. Peter De Banks bossing the region's youth rankings.
Oxford Ladies recent defeat means this section is very tight but they are still top. Nicki Hoskins leading the region.
B2's lost to Hampshire 15-12 a very good effort as this was a side full of Youth players Except for kenny and David. Again missed blacks cost us the match.
I'm still recovering from the shock myself - I cannot believe the way that match turned out.
It was amazing that we managed to go 7-0 up against our rivals W.Berks. We thought we were off to a flier. Then our team suffered the most outrageous batting collapse we've ever experienced, floundering only to win a further 2 frames out of the next 14... leaving us with a 12-9 loss. Absolutely unbelievable.
From what I saw we seemed to just stop getting run of the ball, and it didn't look like over confidence from us. Personally my third frame was attrocious (how did i miss all those balls on the table with my two shots? doh!) but everyone else looked to be fighting valiently in their frames.
Never mind ladies - lets pick ourselves up from that one. and go on to win the region anyway. If we win the rest, which is infiinitely do-able, we probably will still finish top. The last couple of matches have just been our usual mid season hiccup. Lets come out fighting aginst bristol in a few weeks.
Regional Stats and tables updated and are in their usual place.
B, Ladies and Youth still on top. 'A' team still somehow able to qualify due to another big loss for Bristol. A win against bristol and Wiltshire will see them home.
Hi all Rileys have at long last put in three new English 8 ball tables so now 8 in all which does include pay as u go table.Much more room for all the county teams now.
