Right, i've closed the poll. Not many votes cast, but the majority don't want the 'C' or 'F' word used on the forum, so any further instances of this will result in a warning from me (by Private Message) which must be acknowledged within 3 days to avoid being banned. Any further violations will result in an immediate ban.

As voted by the majority, you are allowed to blank out banned words with asterisks.

I hope this clarifies the position?

Considering that this website can be viewed worldwide by anybody at any time I think the use of any swear words should be banned. If a person cannot come on to the forum and express themselves without using swear words or even stars to replace them then they need to take a good look at themselves.

Ok, considering this is a 'local Pool' website for Oxfordshire, why on earth would anyone out side these circles be viewing it? Do you know how may hits it has a day, 200 or so? hardly ebay is it.

No seriously, it's not about expressing yourself in any particular way, it's just basic banter. My personal view (if ya didn't guess) is that it should be acceptable to swear, BUT - personal insults/derogatory remarks between 2 or more individuals, should be banned.

So isty at what age do you think a child should be  before its acceptable for them to be reading the swearing that you want to write on here ?

I don't know TBH, why don't you tell me?


BUT, before you do consider this.... What type of individual's does this Forum cater for? let me answer that for you Isn't it for Oxfordshire pool players? do you know what the average age is for the said persons? Nope, nor do I but at a guesstimate I would say it's waayyy over 18.


So we all agree it's a Pool Forum, yep? Okay, that takes me to my next (valid) point.


Where are 90% of Pool matches played? yes, you got it in Pubs at during the evening when our little ones are safe and sound tucked up in bed. How many pubs have you been to where you haven't heard the words FUK, or FUKING?  Going on personal experience - none, zero.


What I'm geeting at is that Pool is basicly a Pub game, and like it or not it's evloved around Sweraing, Smoking, Drinking, basicly all the stuff we try and keep away from our kids. I wouldn't condone swearing on family orientated Forums but, unfortunatley this is a Pool forum and it comes with the territory.


BTW, are you voting for the Green Party today? LOL
