does n e 1 know what is happening whith caravan payments ? im askin cuz adam and sean are both r both cumin and are at uni at the mo. cheers
Yes the forms are on the ocpf.co.uk site under southern region then selsey caravans i believe moneys to be in 15th Feb?? but 100% sure on that.
I hope most youth players look on here so i am calling a meeting at rileys sunday midday to chat about selsey and for some of the under 18 players which is most it would br nice to see your parents
I see Oxford and Bristol A teams both made it in the end. There would appear to be some confusion on the timetable regarding the youth matches B & C ??? this is meant to be A & B so is the C a mistake for the A ?????

Hi Beffy No The 'B's is the 'A's and The 'C's is The 'B's
And for the ladies where it reads BYE I presume it should read Somerset? They appear to be a late addition to the qualifying teams.
How are the groups worked out?? It looks weird to me that both Essex and Hampshire would be in the same group... didn't they both win their respective regions? I was expecting us to be stuck with Essex.
Don't get me wrong... I've delighted with the group we're in. Tough first day, but if we do well then we've got a great chance...

You'll have to leave at about midnight to get all the way there on your mobility buggy before your first match at 9.30am. :)
Its just typical of the organisation (at national level) as I was told 2 weeks ago that we wouldn't be playing till at least noon, and are leaving at 9am, they have now said to get there asap but it looks like we will be claimed against by Derbyshire.
P.S. Also Ben I'm sure you will be impressed when you see the "mobility buggy" that we turn up in.

Fortunately, Derbyshire have agreed to let me play my 5 frames at the start of the match.
I've arranged for the Cross Keys 6x3 table to be transported to Selsey for that match, so Malc and the boys can re-charge their mobility scooters whilst they have breakfast along the way.
No need to get there b4 1pm

'A' team lost their first game against West Berks 12-14 but were playing well. We then won 15-12 against Middlesex (John Sullivan's team). I then went home!
Day two was amazing - A win against East London of 15-8 (I think) was followed by a win over Cambs (last years winners) of 14-5. The day was rounded off with a 14-12 win over Bristol.
Oxford 'A' top the group and face Derbyshire tomorrow in the first of the semis. Berkshire or East London await in the final.
The Youth 'A' team has also qualified, although the Ladies - despite a bright start - were knocked out at the group stages. The Men's 'B' are also spectators on the final day.
The seniors (not sure if that's an exhibition event or a regular fixture from now on) were also in deep trouble needing a good win in their last match.
Having been forced to come home Friday evening, may I just say C'mon Oxford 'A's!
The 'A' team are in the final! A tense 14-13 win over Derbyshire in the semi-final. Apparently the deciding frame was won by Pete Maconochie after 45 minutes!
The final is this afternoon against East London who beat Berkshire in the other Semi.
We did it! Oxfordshire 'A' 14-8 East London 'A' (from 4-7 down)
Fantastic stuff!!!!
Congrats to all the team - John Kinsey, Kevin McIlroy, Marcus Guise, Jimmy Cairns, Adam Brown, Andrew Gee, Pete Maconochie, Matty Challen, Jamey Street (Saturday and Sunday) and myself (Friday).
I'm sure JFK will provide a tournament summary shortly!

Phew! Just got back from Selsey, a long way on a mobility scooter.
Deep Trouble? Just slow starters and playing using our poker faces, not showing our hand too early. Have to say standard was pretty hot as most teams had 3 or 4 players from their County 'A' team representing their Senior sides
Anyway beat Derbyshire 'B' 11-2 in our final group match on Saturday to qualify for Semi-Final and after an early night, 11pm (NO! not a miss print) came out "guns a blazing" on Sunday.
Beat Derbyshire 'A' 11-5 in Semi and Middlesex 11-9 in Final (from 1-5 down).
Congrats to all the "old gits"; Me, Malc, Webby, Basher and JB. (we also won £720 on gee gees lol)

The B team struggled to perform in both their matches on Friday losing both. Highlight of the day was against Staffordshire B, losing the first leg 8-1 only to win the second leg 9-0!
On Saturday we played much better winning all three matches but needed other results to go our way which they didn't so we ended up third in our group. Annoyingly Warwickshire B won the B Final whom we'd vanquished 14-8 on Saturday morning.
I think Emma will be posting more detailed notes later.
Other B Team highlights: Ben beating Andy Lucas 2-0 in Thursday night's flyer and Tom reaching the last 16 of the Singles (again).
What a result! And some of the most solid play I've ever seen... Especially The Chief's deciding frame in the semi and Jamey holding his nerve for the winning frame in the final!
And Well Done to the seniors too, also fantastic, they never stopped joking all the way through! Who was it that mentioned they should have gone on stage to collect their trophies to the theme tune of 'Dads Army'!?
