Well done guys but I wouldn't agree that you're best team in the country. Maybe at Blackball though.
We're not the best team at basketball either Hazel, but just like world rules...who gives a toss!!
Awesome performences this weekend and i am so proud to have been a part of it!
May i make a suggestion that a date is put forward for EVERYONE to get together one fri/sat evening sometime soon to go out and get suitably leathered in celebration of the achievements across the board this weekend, picking up not 1 but 2 team titles is amazing but lets also remember the youth's reaching the semi's the youth B's doing themselves proud on their first outing 5 of the last 16 in youth singles being from Oxford and of course another stunning performance from Tom Williams in the mens singles!
As Pete said to me yesterday on the stage 'we need to milk this for all its worth' and i personally would love another night out on the guiness with all those involved this weekend especially all those who got behind our teams cheering and screaming as it goes without saying, this helped tremendously and thank you to all those who did!!

We all know you big up world rules but let me ask you this when was the last time an oxfordshire pool team won anything at the so called best world rules.
Umm Answers on a post card please NEVER HAVE THEY GOT EVEN CLOSE.
The Lads have done oxford proud so stop putting them down and let them enjoy their victory.
Im sure the lads would love to take your world rules specialists on and shut you up once and for all
A brilliant weekend of pool - not just for the A's or Over-40s but very encouraging for the future too. A wonderful end to a difficult season.
Despite what that idiot from Derby said about being the only county to promote youth pool ... our 2 youth sides did well again producing 5 of the last 16 in youth singles not to mention a certain youth player that produced the goods time and time again over the weekend for the A's!!
Nicki Hoskins also made it to the Semi-finals of the ladies event only to meet an inform Sarah Trudget.
It was also nice to see the winner of the A-team stats (Adam Brown) be a player that came through trials and up through the ranks.
A huge thank you though to all the support we received all weekend. Team spirit and support count for so much. Taking over the entire front seating in the final certainly did its bit!!
Thank you also to those players that never gave up thinking we could do it and made a spirit that finally encouraged the best of players.
2009/2010 season ...... defending champions ...... Bring it on!!!
Anyone wanting to be part of the setup that defends this title then trials are this Sunday @ Rileys (Between Towns Road) starting at 11am for men and 2pm for youth and ladies.
Match reports and stats are here. Some are still to come in.
I have a huge apology to make as i failed to mention Nicki Hoskin's stunning performance in the ladies singles, i dont know how i managed this as i spent most of saturday night cheering for and watching her amazingly high standard of pool, In particular the very impressive finish taken out in the decider of the quarter final!
Very well done Nicki and barring a robot like performance from that thing from Essex who knows what might have happened!
The B team struggled to perform in both their matches on Friday losing both. Highlight of the day was against Staffordshire B, losing the first leg 8-1 only to win the second leg 9-0!
Slight corrdction this was in our first game against Berkshire B of all people having beaten them twice in the season.

I admitted in another forum that I prefer Blackball Rules actually.
Umm Answers on a post card please NEVER HAVE THEY GOT EVEN CLOSE. Agreed, neither of the mens teams have but maybe it's cos the competitions harder or that they're not so good, but the ladies always do well.
The Lads have done oxford proud so stop putting them down and let them enjoy their victory. Where have I put them down? I think they did incredibly well and I too am very proud of them.
Im sure the lads would love to take your world rules specialists on and shut you up once and for all Get it arranged then, I can give you contact details of our captains.
i rest my case The main reason I play EPA county and not Blackball county is because there's loads more events to play in, everyone knows that.

Thanks Jimmy - I thought I'd been forgotten!
But obviously massive congratulations to the A's - about time I say! Plus the seniors for winning, youth for making the semis and putting in a good show in the singles, and Tom for making the last 16 (and I hope I haven't forgotten anyone now!!).
Disappointing for the ladies losing out AGAIN on frame difference, but next year WILL be different (and we'll know the eligibility rules - sorry Rachael!). It was a good weekend all round anyway and just as much fun supporting you guys in the final!
Oh, and of course I'm up for getting suitably leathered in celebration...
I think for me personally the highlight of the weekend was playing my 4th round singles match on the Saturday night and realising halfway through that pretty much all of the Oxfordshire contingent were sat around watching the match. It certainly helped spur me to come back from 2-0 down to get through to the last 16.
I have to apologise though for yipping so badly with a great chance to win the last 16 match 3-0. I missed a great opportunity to get into the quarter finals but by that time my pool brain was pretty well spent!
Next year I guarentee I'll win the Singles event......
Well done to everyone who came to Selsey. It's ashame the B's couldn't have done a little better. Still, we did beat the eventual winners which goes to show that we are capable of winning the tourny too.
Maybe next year Oxfordshire will win the lot!!
Special mention's go to Brownie and King G in the A's for all round awesome performances. Jez in the B's as he was really struggling on Friday due to illness and managed to win almost every frame he played on Saturday.
One last mention for Captain Kinsey for uniting the team and putting the opponents off by looking like he was about to keel over in the middle of every frame! Just goes to show, with a fair approach to team management and some team spirit anything is possible.
Oh yeah, well done to the OAP's too. Does anyone know if they all made it back to their respective nursing homes safely?
Cant belive it to be honest the only time i dont go we win something.. Mind you everyone is getting congratulated apart from me when i should have the biggest one out of them all for not turning up....
Cause if i was there half the team would not of made it out of bed or they would be suffering in the morning and playing ****
It has to be said that Matty was a far more sensible player this year without feeling the need to play the fool to impress Nathan, Scooby and yourself!
