Joking aside i haven't played in a league for a long time and only play with a couple of friends and we play a "no snooker" rule and just practise trying to clear up so world rules are probably better for me! Snookers do my head in lol
.......and here:-

I wasn't having a dig or a go Hazel, was mearly pointing out that things have come along way since BAPTO switched to Blackball.
You should really come and play Blackball if you favour the rules. I'm sure the girls would welcome you on to their team....... if you got through trials of course!
I'm not having a go either Ben, but firstly there has never been a set of rules called BAPTO. I wonder where Blackball got the idea though to hit a cushion after every shot, or pot a ball?
I'm pretty sure I'd make the Blackball county team but as previously stated, there's not enough events to play in which is why I believe the general standard of EPA players are better than the general standard of Blackball players, hence why it's so much easier for the Oxfordshire Blackball county team to qualify for finals so often as they do have a very strong squad in the EUKPF set up. I wonder how well they'd do at EPA National county finals.
I think they took that rule from 9-Ball. I can't think where else they could have got it.....
It just goes to show though. One code is moving forward whilst the other is stationary. I'm sure in 10 years time Blackball will be the dominant set of rules.
A lot of EPA players already play Blackball events. With the cue sports tv £50,000 series being played to them. I'm sure it won't be long before EPA start kicking all there superstars out anyway. After all, they will go where the money is.
And you are right you probably would qualify for our ladies team....... we're entering 2 this year.
As I have mentioned before it's a while since I have played "Proper pool" but most of my memories were of long drawn out tactical bout's and ultimatley complete boredom, this is half the reason I stopped playing!
What I remember most is really average players doing quite well because they covered all the pockets and kept snookering until they had like 6 shots, then waiting until they had 2 shot's before they would even think about trying to clear the table!
Anyway Im probably going to end up having my ass handed to me on a plate on Sunday! Ha Ha
I dont know pete but i know sean i have only played sean once in the final of a local competition, he beat me badly but i had been drinking since 4pm and the final started at 11.30pm and if Im honest I was wasted and he could have probably beat me left handed!
I want to play him sober because Im sure I would murder him! OOoopps!! probably shouldn't have said that.............................never mind!..........runs for cover!
I forgot to metion we played old EPA rules and guess what? all he did was snooker me all night !!

That's because she is scared of not being number one in the Ladies county team like she claims to be in the EPA set up and to be fair she probably is one of the top players in the Oxford Ladies set up there.

Benny, that is not an appropriate posting. Stop causing trouble.
Hazel and I had a conversation about there being a spot for the abingdon ladies singles winner at an EPA event. And we both agreed we fancied winning that.
Hazel did fancy her chances, as indeed do I fancy mine. So may I suggest Benny that you mind your own business...

I suggest you all get your facts right b4 spouting off about £50
Any league can enter their League Winners, Men's Singles Winner and Ladies Singles Winner into the Champions of Champions event. The cost is £50 which the Abingdon league is considering paying, no individual gets cash for winning league competitions and the league will only consider paying if all represenatives attend the C of C event...
