Firstly I would like to maintain an email group of all players for ease on communication in addition to the forum. Sending text messages will be expensive for me so I'd rather just send a group email.
I am missing email addresses for the following people:
Matty Challen Tom Weeks Lee Challis Jason Buck Rhys Freemire Chris Webb Nick Mansell Dave Crawford Andrew Gee Ross Gibson Daniel Stockwell Peter de Banks Mark Cooper Tom Gaughan Kenny Broster
Secondly, please don't forget when you arrange a match with your opponent, and book a table, you also ring, text, email me as well. It is important that I'm informed so that I can chase up matches that aren't arranged towards the end of the month.
For the sake of confirmation, Section Two players have free tables for their matches at Colours (although it's now called Rileys as well). They may also get something like a 25% discount for practise prior to a match.
As before though, if two players would rather play elsewhere they may do so but at their own cost.
To hopefully get people in the mood, we've got our first couple of results:
Section Two: Rhys Freemire beat Jamie Saczak 10-9.
Section Three: Kenny Broster beat Tom Gaughan 10-8 Tom Williams beat James Watson 10-1.
I know of three other matches that have been arranged for February but I need to know when you have arranged matches for so please just send me a text or email.
Section One: John Kinsey has withdrawn and is relaced by Chris Webb.
Section Two: As Chris Webb has moved to Section One there is a vacancy in Section Two. I am waiting on a reply from one person who had previously expressed interest but if they don't want to be involved then I will look next down the reserve list.

SECTION 3 PETER DEBANKS10-9 DAVE CRAWFORD story of the match was i went 7-4 up then 9-7 down and at 9-9 i pulled out a good 7 ball clearance Dave had 2 break dishes
Very very close match for me and at one stage i was 9-7 down, tactically nicki played class, but the last frame i played a poor safety shot to let her have a pot to go into her balls that were in trouble and gave me a suprising foul shot and then took my chance to win.
very good match but if ive got to play at colours again i think ill cry!
my match with nicki hoskins was silly, not too sure but i think it started at 8:15 or 8:30, and ended at about 11:00 or a bit later, so nearly 3 hours our match went on for, and it was freezing in their.
and what do you mean whats wrong with it, well you should know god since that your creation created it.
Its a SH*t whole and think the tables are awful in my humble opinion.

totally agree with you king gee, was in there tonight playing pool with shelley (beat him 16-10) and it was bloody freezing, not a very pleasant place to practice.

Section Two: Graham Hornblow beat John Williams 10-6.
Re: Colours. Players in Section Two are not obliged to play their matches there. If they do want to then the table will be free for the match. If they don't want to then they can split the cost of the table where they do play between them and their opposition.
I always try to stick up for Colours, but just lately the list of problems has been ridiculous. Unless things improve, my team won't be playing there next season.
1) No Heating. At all. For about 3 weeks. 2) Lift not working. No notice apologising. 3) Ordering of stock awful. On my last visit the only draught beer available was Stella. On other occasions there's been no coke/diet coke/lemonade for several days, so anyone that like a spirit with a mixer was stumped. 4) Men's toilets in a right old state. Pipework to urinals nicked/removed a few months ago, so with no water to flush them with and (surprise, surprise) it now stinks in there and all bar one urinal was blocked last time I was there. 5) Change machine hasn't been in use for months. 6) Stairwells filthy. Used to be mopped daily, but now probably every other week at the most. 7) The new supervisor/manager blamed an awful smell on the end of the bar on the fact that they had been 'over cleaning' lately! 8) Loads of 'hoodies' and little kids in there playing pool on unlit tables, putting bottles on tables, and creating an unwelcome atmosphere. JFK was threatened by one of them a short while ago.
I could go on, but on a more positive side, 'BT' the girl who works in there constantly tries her best, but given that she's only 18, she doesn't really know what she's doing. The tables are also in a reasonable state given the idiots that play on them thanks to Malc.
I also usually stick up for Colours as well, but I would add to the list:
9) I have no idea when the glass washer was last cleaned, but the glasses they serve drinks in are filthy. I had one the other day that actually had brown gunk all over the inside. Mmmmm... Again, it used to be cleaned every day when I worked there. 10) Unreliable opening. I booked a match for 1 pm today, only to turn up to find a note on the door saying 'due to circumstances beyond our control we will not be open til 2'. And that's not even nearly the first time that has happened!
And the heating is ridiculous. My match with Andrew lasted about 3 and a half hours and I was actually shivering at the end. How are you supposed to play pool when you're shaking?! (not that that's an excuse by the way.... I lost fair and square and he was in exactly the same boat!).
I briefly mentioned my and others' feelings towards the place today, but will have a proper chat with the supervisor next time I see him. If nothing is being done about all these things then I'm also going elsewhere!
I played John at Colours last night and it was absolutly freezing so much so it was a joy to go outside to warm up! I also agree with Ash the atmostphere wasnt the nicest in there we even had a vist from the police! It cost me £2.50 to park so I might as well have payed to play at Rileys which I think I will be doing in the future!
maybe somebody should tell the area manager to look at this website to see what is going on cos they cant visit the venue to often for it to be in that state????? i think it has to be one of the worst places in town now to get a drink and have a laugh, i cant beleive it has gone down hill so much in such a short amount of time....
