Tom you know my situation, working most days / weekends, please dont go and set a date for the playoffs. I only played in the league because i could arrange matches around my work schedule, so the playoffs will have to be on the same format.
Tom Weeks has almost won this section. It would take a defeat by Adam Brown and Malcolm Lewis to win against both Jamey Street and Kevin McIlroy by handsome margins to stop Tom winning.
Second place is tight between Nathan Ball, Malcolm, Adam, Jason Buck and Matty Challen.
Section Two:
Rhys Freemire is champion of Section Two, with Andrew Gee, Shaun Taylor, Graham Hornblow, Nick Mansell and Jamie Saczak lining up to take 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
Section Three:
Section Three has been won by Peter de Banks with John Street looking likely to stay 2nd unless he loses to James Watson and Tom Williams beats Tom Gaughan by enough frames to have a better frame difference than John. Failing that Tom Williams remains in 3rd and Keith Hollis is sure of staying in 4th.
Ladies Section:
If Nicki Kinsey beats Verity Anton she will win this section undefeated, else Jaz Venning has a chance to topple Nicki if she beats Verity by some margin. If not, Jaz is guarenteed 2nd place. 3rd and 4th places are between Shelly James, Carrie Francombe, Hazel Dabrowski and Verity Anton (although based on the number of matches she has remaining, Verity could win the section if she wins all her remaining matches).
Usual request though to all sections, this league only works if you make the effort to contact your opponent and get the matches arranged. It looks like a lot of matches are now going to slip into 2010 which inevitably pushes back the play offs and the presentation night. The 2010/11 season will commence in February regardless so to avoid future clashes get your matches played now!

Barney mate, I beat James 10-4, Boinky did post it on here and I text you the result too. I've just got Ross to play now. Ross, can you bell me on 07787 429396 or can someone post or send me Ross's contact number please and we can get it sorted. Cheers!
With regard to the playoffs, I wouldn't be available to play a whole day, understand if you want to get the final of the playoffs on one day at one venue which wouldn't be that bad, but don't really understand why we can't stick to the same format, as long as the first match is played within the first 10 days of Jan, should be easy to get them all in, especially if you are going to reduce the number of frames per match.
Is there a cut off date for the league games to be played by tom (DECEMBER)......????? at this rate the new season will have started with the old one still being played.....surely the remaining fixtures should have a date to be played by otherwise those games get void with both players getting 0 points.....

Agree really needs to put a cut off date in force, I have 2 outstanding matches and personally I have given up trying to arrange these two matches.

So, with nearly 1/3 of jan over it looks like the same fixtures outstanding???? any chance of a cut off date tom...... the way its going the league fixtures wont even be finished by the end of jan and with the playoff dates to arrange and the new season starting there will be to many matches to try and arrange for those who get through to the finals of the play off... i thought the whole idea was trying to make it 1 match a month......i just wonder what will happen if matches are still outstanding going into Feb, March, April, May yawn yawn yawn...
So we have in the first result from the 2010 season. Today is the 3rd February so of course everyone has arranged their February match....
