Who Agree's that we should bring back ocpf.bun.com
Permalink Closed

I am starting this topic because personally; i think that the new ocpf website is SH*T and i hate it because most of the options on there dont allow you too see the site, or to do so you have to download abot 47,000 other different software.

I hope lots of people vote just by using comment. Can you please right whether you prefer the old website or the new website and state you reason ad hopefully we can get the old one back

I personally think the old website is better because you dont need other software to see the web page its all done on the browser. Its a lot more simple and easier to use and you dont have to wait about 14 light years to see one web page (and thats even if you can get it up on your computer). It may not look as nice but its more efficent and easier to use and you can actully see the web pages you request.

So as you gathered i have choosen the old website. Other opinions would be nice thanks?

Adobe Reader, that's 1.

Can you list the 46,999 other bits of software required that Mr Gee's on about

Adobe is how I choose to post the tables ... nothing to do with the site. Go back to the old by all means ... still going to post regional tables in pdf format.

As for multiple downloads King Gee ... you might be in trouble ... if you don't have native Adobe (or Excel for Internet Explorer users) support in your Browser then it must be pre Internet Explorer 6 or Mozilla 3 ... which means your machine is likely to be packed to hell and back with root kits and other malware those browsers have no protection from - which would also explain the slowness. Anti-Virus', expensive or not now provide little protection either. Anyone with IE 6 or better can view everything on the site without downloads. Mozilla (Firefox) users only have to download the excel viewer.

These files have nothing to do with the site anyway. These file formats are what those producing them want to publish them in - mostly for ease. If you want everything published in striaght old HTML (webpage) like the ocpf.bun site used to then you can volunteer to spend the hours doing it!! Updating leagues in Excel and either publishing the file or something like pdf cuts hours off the admin time for those doing it that way. I'm sure Ash, Julian and other posters would both agree.

What is your Browser Me Gee?

Either at work or at home I have no trouble with the new site.

Also OCPF.bun used to show pages funny when viewed on Firefox, and that was in a much worse format.

The new site allows scope for the continued expansion of the site, and I'm really glad we've got all the regional stuff on there now too.

You know things are getting bad when the 'yoof' of today can't even figure out how to surf the internet properly!

Even the old dinosaur me and Jaz live with has no problems using the website and I think we had to show him how to open internet explorer about 6 months ago!
