Johnny Cider 10 - 6 Steve Jordan

Steve was a little unlucky and I couldn't pot off the break for want of trying!

'Twas a highly enjoyable night, nice atmos, good bunch of people out, good laugh & lots of luvverly cold cider at a very reasonable price!

Whilst waiting for my bus, got into The Randolph to use their bog... Again! Unfortunately the bar was shut by then...

A near perfect evening!

Cheers!

All,

Mark Cooper has also now withdrawn from Section Three.  As we are only just into March, if I can find a replacement, I plan to void Mark's two matches so far and catch up with the February fixture.  I think that's far better than just having a BYE this early in the year.

I did have a list of reserves but I think I've exhausted it now from previous withdrawals.  Therefore there is a space available to the first person who texts/rings me on 07739016497 in Section Three.  I know not everyone will see this message on the forum so feel free to spread the word if you've a team mate who would like to enter.

Tom.

The vacancy is now filled.  Jez Thompson replaces Mark Cooper in Section Three.

Johnny Cider 10-2 Daniel Stockwell

To be fair Dan didn't really get a look in, I'd been playing snooker for 3 hours before hand and was well warmed up.

Cheers!

does that mean all points won against mark cooper are void? if so thats a bit harsh on the players who have already played him.

Yes it is a bit harsh but it's my league and my choice so it's tough.

If I didn't replace Mark with someone else there would be a bye in the league and the two results against him would have been voided anyway.  As it's early in the season I'm happy for Jez to catch up the one late fixture (February) which has already been arranged for this Saturday.

If someone withdraws later in the season (which I sincerely hope they don't) then it's a trickier situation.  But I expect that peer pressure will keep unmotivated players fulfilling their fixtures (plus the penalty of being banned from the league for three years).  I expect everyone to dish out a suitable level of abuse to anyone who withdraws during the season (withdrawees to date excepted).

I have spoken.

Tom.

Fair enough.

Have you heard from these people what their suggestion is for the ideal situation?

I'm happy to take criticism from people for the decisions I make but only if I've missed a more sensible option.  Until then I'm right and that's it.
