Didn't stop her having a face like thunder in the closing frames, did it Jaz...
Yes Ash, And having you whinge at me for looking miserable immediately after finishing a 2.5 hr match of dreary pool was exactly what I needed. Thanks for that.
All I wanted was to get over the line and finish the damn thing (without losing any more frames!)
Don't make me call you a chump....oh ok then. You're a chump.
Nicki Kinsey 10 - 1 Hassan Ali - England player versus nine year old.
Terry Ambrose 1 - 10 Richard Lamburn - Worst pool-playing pool club manager versus (very) seasoned pool league campaigner.
Mark Cooper 10 - 1 Steve Joseph - Former Thursday Winter League Section Four Most Wins 3rd place versus...well aw just bless him.
With all due respect these scorelines are more a reflection on the lack of experience in some players and not the inappropriate seeding of others. As there is no Section Four, there is nowhere else to go.
Next season, Section Four will be Keith Hollis times twelve so he can play with himself six times a month.

By this I presume you mean - with no respect what so ever and keep your big mouth shut in future?
I see Sheba's grading system works in this league then with 10-1's all over the place - lol
I think Sheba's scoring system by nature of its design does encourage greater thrashings, as opposed to reducing them.
This is because the person winning keeps fightinng right the way to the finish, not wanting to lose the points available for every 2 frames you finish clear, when their rivals might take more off them.
Yes the losing player may also keep trying due to the extra points they can pick up, but where the difference in score is significant by this stage, theres not usually all that much the weaker player can do to swing things one way or t'other.
Loss of frames at this late stage is usally just going to be down down to the stronger player slacking off too much or being careless. Which doesn't tend to happen under this scoring system.
Fair play to Tom for running such a competition and no dis respect to him but i thenk that the point scoring system that was voted in is awful..!
very unlikely yes but what would happen if a player goes unbeaten for a whole season but another player loses just 1 game... the player that loses 1 game could win the league??
For Example... Player 1 could go unbeaten for all 11 games winning them by a narrow margin (10-8 or 10-9) but player 2 could win 8 or 9 games by a huge margin (10-1 or 10-2) but lose 2 or 3 games by a narrow margin and still win the league. how can a player thats unbeaten not be champion to someone that has lost a couple of games??

I have to agree with The Bottler here. Stupid scoring system designed to appease the weaker players in each section who weren't happy with not winning many games last year.
Ironically, as mentioned above, all it means is that they get beaten much more heavily and still look just as bad as they did last year (infact they will look even worst). If tinkering has to be done why not make it best of 18 frames so there can be a draw and award 3 points for the win and 1 for the draw.
Actually, cancel that. Why not award 3 points for a win 2 for a draw and to appease the weaker players 1 point for turning up!
