Tom failed to see this in the gradings at the start !


Some people are good in best of 1 , 3 and even 5 but their game isn't strong enough to take decent players on in a best of 19 hwere sustained performance is required.

He should have been a politician with some of the answers he puts on here in response to questions comments possed as the grading / points system !

i agree beefy about some players can be good over the short distance but not over the long distance but we are already 4 games in so theres nothing we can do bout it.

Jaz 10 v 8 Nicki

Didn't take as long as it might - Nicki and I were dreading a 4 or 5 hour marathon but it wasn't quite that bad!  Relatively open frames and free flowing pool.

My potting was strong early in the match and saw me forge into a more than comfortable lead 9-3.  Shockingly though I couldn't seem to get over the line, with my potting deserting me I missed a couple of quite gettable blacks as Nicki also upped her game to win 5 on the trot to reach 9-8. 

Thankfully I managed to not completely squander what had largely been a good performance from me, and managed to get over the line with a clearance including several dodgy positional shots, but thankfully no more missing.  Phew.

Ash Street 10-7 James Watson

It was a pretty even game i think, we both had our share of flukes, good potting and decent safety play through out.

Also im playing Mark Cooper at Rileys on the 4th of July.

Richy 10v9 Jaz

Another very long game - over 3 hrs I think - and it was ridiculously hot in Rileys. Match was pretty neck and neck for the most part - each time I pulled ahead Richy would catch me up.  I was 3-0 up, 8-6 up and led throughout the match, only to end up losing right at the end. Good game though - enjoyed it.

Was looking good at 7-0 up, but then Steve started potting really well and I lost 3 on the bounce. Got there in the end though - another long night. Zzzzzzz.

I've gotta start playing quicker.

Barney I do hope you have your apologies ready for all those that paid their money at the start entering what they believed to be a fairly graded league only to have a consistant top section player thrown in with them.

I haven't won anything yet beefy i might be winning all my games but so is marc reynolds and we play last game of season that should be a cracker. As for my match the other night mark should have won 2 of the first 4 but after that i played some of my best pool ever i missed 1 pot and 1 bad positional shot in 10 frames. Why cant i play like that all the time lol

This was my point before the league started and the reason i withdrew!  Shame as i did enjoy playing in this last year.

Not a chance you never know i might just win a match somewhere along the way oh yeah i did and had it scrubbed smilesmilesmilesmile

Besides if i do that then i cant olay next year when i will be in section 2 biggrin

Steve J 10-8 Jaz

This was a far from vintage match from either of us Jaz led 5-2 then i went 8-5 up and struggled to the finish line a night we both would rather forget i think.
