Carrie took a big early lead (I'm not going to own up to quite how big...) potting nicely whilst I seemed to fluff up at every opportunity. I then really had to try and tighten things up. Sorry for the "boring" play Carrie, with lots of snookering and covering pockets. Oh it was a thrill a minute I promise you. There were still at least 2 of the frames I won which should have cost me the match - one where Carrie rattled a double on the black, and another where I missed a cut back to the middle on the black and got the double instead. Sorry Carrie - I think you were very unlucky not to get the win last night.
October: Shelley James v Jaz Venning Jodie Rabin v Hazel Dabrowski
November: Lauren Thomas v Nicki Kinsey Hazel Dabrowski v Shelley James Verity Anton v Sheree Houseman
With a round of October to December matches and December matches still unplayed it's quite important that everyone makes the effort to arrange their matches and get them played. I'm not going to arrange them for you.
Can I not manage to win one of these darned games a bit more comfortably??? This time I was 5-1 up and nearly lost. Shelly got into her swing and pulled it back to a decider, which to my immense relief I scraped through with a doubled black to win. Wasn't a bad quality game tbh...
Jaz and V are playing their match this Tues at Rileys (blimey 3 in one week, this is mental - at least I'm catching up on all my late games!!)
I really enjoyed this game - V really made me work for it. I had to pot a couple of tough blacks to get my nose infront. V played a good mixture of tactical play and then taking out her clearances when they were on.
Anyway thats me done now. Do I get a prize for being first to play all my games
I really don't approve of people dropping out at this late stage (or at all infact).
I'm pretty sure that if Hazel had beaten me and/or Nicki she would have bothered to play the rest of her matches. Boo.
Seems to have been a pattern this season - people who got off to a disappointing start, i.e. lost some games they hoped to win, they then just decided to quit. Very poor in my opinion.
I am sorry to pull out at this stage however it has nothing to do with losing a couple of matches. The reason is purely financial. My father has just given me a substancial amount of money to pay off my overdraft so I don't have to pay the new bank charges so I can't justify paying out £6 in bus fares plus drinks each time I go to the A1 club. I've thoroughly enjoyed playing these matches and if it's run again and I'm better off financially I'd love to enter again. Good luck to those still playing.

plus you would have got some money back for finishing third.... would have been atleast your entry fee if not a bit more. That would have covered the cost of petrol and a can of coke. Some of the people might even have been prepared to play at a venue closer to where you live.
We all know the reason you have dropped out is because you lost a few games and can't deal with being an also ran or classified as the third best lady in Oxford.
The X13 bus (Abingdon to JR Hospital) is only £3.50 return, get off at the plain and walk to A1.
Can't believe that the super "World Rules" player has been duffed up by the "Blackball" girlies

December: Conny Meisenberg v Lauren Thomas Nicki Kinsey v Verity Anton Sheree Houseman v Jodie Rabin
As these matches impinge on all of the top four positions I can't close off this season yet. Please get them played, the prize fund is burning a hole in my pocket so I'd rather get the prizes handed out.
