Yes Hazel, half our Oxford A team have made it onto the England squad this year, and currently play on the B team.
However Hampshire's team is full of England players, including 2 England A team players, one of whom has been Ladies World Singles Champion twice in the last 5 years.
What is your point?
And incidentally, I think both Carrie and Verity got a frame off the champ, so well done them!!!
beefy unfortunately your wrong and pissfield is right it was 18-9 we spanked the top team now we need to pull out one more good reult and were at selsey!wahay!
I knew Tom lost but didn't realise he was the only one to lose in that leg - the opposition did go rather quiet considering how confident they were saying they won all their games blah blah blah

Did the opposition have a full team?
and even comes with a little basket to get the balls/beer to the table...

I apologise - well done on winning the match, but until you instigate a proper trials and selection process for the team, then I won't really consider it a proper county team. The fact that you're having to bring someone in last minute surely only reinforces the lack of legitimacy of it?
Having said that, I appreciate it is a new thing within the county set-up, and no doubt for next season an appropriate selection system will be put in place? As and when that happens it will have my full support (for what it's worth!).
wat a day and prob best performance this season, so just a big thank you to all the boys today and the whole year for all your team spirit and performances.
oxon c 15 v 12 west berks c
and just a big congrats to mr james egleston who since started captaining the c team has now seen his team win 3 out of 3 matches, putting them now in the running for nationals!!!! so a big congrats to james and his team. well done boys
We missed a few chances in early frames, and went 5-2 down in the first leg. This gave us a lot to do, but it felt like we were very much still in the race at 9-7 down. However we had a bit of crumble at the vital moment and lost 5 out of the last 6. I think this means we are out of the running for Selsey, however if they take 5 ladies teams from the region as they have in the past then perhaps all is not lost.
Shelly J got 2/3 and I won 3, but otherwise there were slim pickings for frames between the lot of us!
Oxford Ladies B 6 v 15
The Oxford Ladies B put in a fair showing, with the strongest performances coming mainly from our super-subs! As we were short of players Megan and Karima were called in at the last minute as the last trialists knocked out at this years trials.
Karima put the B's first frame on the board with a win in the first leg, and Megan won 2, one against Berkshire's best player!! Very very well done :o) Jo lenthall also looked to be on for her first 3/3, winning the first two of the day, but couldn't quite get started on the clearance in the final frame and just missed out. Nonetheless a great effort. Jane won the other frame.

I had a sporting bet with Nicki that whatever happened, even if they lost all their matches, both the Ladies 'A' and Mens 'A' squads would just, somehow, by the skin of their teeth, still manage to 'qualify' for the finals.
There has also been a change to the dates for the Ladies & Youth County Singles Championship. This will now be held on the same day as the mens - Sunday 14 February 2010.
