i would just like to congratulate oxford on another great display today NOT. I would just like to say that i have enjoyed playing the last 3 or 4 years but now there is no enjoyment at all, i am quitting this team until we get a good consistant teamwhich actually looks like winning now and again. I know we won nationals but there is jus no enjoyment at all this season and this is why i am quitting. Good luck in the future. wink

It a shame you have decided to quit but the enjoyment factor could down to non-stop toy throwing the Oxfordshire men have come accustom to these days, like......
I'm not playing if they are playing
I'm not playing if they are running it
I'm not playing if I have to trial for my place
I'm not playing in the B's or C's for god sake do you not know who I am!
I'm not playing in the A's just because they are short players again
and why did I not get a wildcard!

well mate it is guna be a high standard if me, jamey and a couple of others quit anyway at the moment i am stil part of the team this year as i qualified so surely i can still play.

yeah your right really that is half the problem but when u got a county mens A team with only 5 players whats the point in turning up, as it says in the name it's a TEAM GAME not half a team thats why people are quitting. The team is just relying on 4 or 5 players to win each game other wise we get beat and everybody knows this but if they wud admit it is a different story, nathan should be captain and let him pick the team as there is alot of players that wud play for him which wudnt play as the setup is now.

correct me if I'm wrong (john) but at the agm this year am I right in thinking the managers job was up for election? Also that no one nominated themselves for that position!

What people seem to forget is that john, ash and nicki have to put up with this sort of rubbish every season, same old story every year.

Well the simple facts are that it is a team game and just because you quit the county team won't fold.

I would say whats your loss is another persons gain, I'm sure that they will want your place!!

i will totally agree with u and i dont want the county to fold but it needs a manager and a captain and i think nathan is the ideal person for that in the way that alot of people respect him in the pool leagues all im saying is that we have not got a strong 9 which looks like winning and there is no enjoyment at all this season and theres a few that will agree with me.

Just because your 'friends' don't like it doesn't make it wrong!

Maybe you should praise the players that actually bothered to turn up and have a go at the so called 'good' players that don't turn up.

We don't need players that don't want to play, we want players that want to play for their county, I'm sure they can find replacements for anyone that doesn't want to play anymore.

Oxford doesn't need a hand picked county team, I'm sure there are enough people in oxford to replace you all, afrer all if your so called good players had their way it would just be another rileys team, and then lets see how many people quit!

bring on the other 150 or so people that play in and around oxford!

Aint half of those already in the county squad, if they don't want to play why do they turn up for most of the matches??

and how would it be run differently if it was run by someone else, here goes:

A. You have your fixtures
B. You phone your players for availabilty
C. You arrange transport
D. You play the match

Tell me what anyone else can do different to what john does now??

This time last year John got a lot of stick as Manager, but when the AGM came around those that gave him stick went very quiet.  Now that the time to use the proper channels has gone people are complaining again.

It wouldn't surprise me if Labour stay in power at the next General Election.....!

well yeah thats correct but why make bally captain and john still picks the team that does not make sense at all there is alot more people who would play if bally was captain but as it is now there is no chance, all im saying is that im not avalible to play until there is a decent team in place but i will come along and support the boys wink
