So, there you have it guys. Thanks to posts from an accredited referee and two of the league secretaries (and other prominent players in the area), you can deliberately pot an opponents ball as long as you make a bona fide attempt to hit your ball first. If you do, you are punished with a normal foul and don't forfeit the frame.

I'm surprised Jules didn't know that, and it's a shame he hasn't defended his stance on here, but now there's no excuses amongst forum readers: Whether you agree with it or nor everybody now knows the rule and how it will be enforced - unless of course you play in the Thursday league! wink

So now maybe all you Blackball players will stop whinging about the deliberate foul rule in World Rules.

Thats very interesting manse! If he did understand the rule then I would be very interested to know the reason he threw his toys out of his pram, called me a cheat, refused to shake my hand, tried to tel me the frame should be claimed against me and then threatened my boyfriend outside- clearly the actions of a true sportsman! He behaved like a 5 year old and has proved a terrible role model for the oxfordshire pool leagues! -and if he did not understand the rules then an apology would have been nice. Never mind, I will assume his absence on here is due to the fact that now everything has been clarified he has very little defence anyway!

The really stupid thing is that me playing a foul in actual fact had very little impact on the frame, Jullian still had a chance in the game to clear his balls and would have if he hadnt snookered himself on his last colour and given away 2 shots for me to clear up with.

CROSS KEYS: MIA

Cross Keys B 4 - 11 Plough (Abingdon)

If any of the Cross Keys B team are reading this - please come back, your Pub needs you! The imposters who turned up last night just weren't up to the job!

Seriously though........fair play to the Plough, they all played well. I do think the game could have gone either way though on the balance of play. We threw a couple of frames away, and I hope the Plough lads would admit that they had four or five enormous slices of luck which swung the tie in their favour. Still, that's pool. Come on, lads.......lets not make a title charge in to a relegation scrap!

Ah interesting - Admitting you know the rule...em

I remember a certain frame on a Monday night where you MISSED your ball and KNOCKED two of mine in that WERE OVER the pocket. I didn't claim the frame on that occassion as you could of argued that there was an edge of your ball sticking out and just missed it.

Hazel whats your view on that one ?????????????

Short memory Mr Hollis, Do you not remember the frame you played with Jamie and you had a ball in full view and you went for one that you could not see hit 4 of Jamie's balls and putting two on cushions ok a shot and visit, but  i would have called  DF as in my view and as a ref you did not make a attempted to hit your ball and with one off yours in full view this has to be deemed DF

If you added the 7 points that Peachcroft got against Oracle then they'd be the official tables, or do you dislike Terry & Co?

Tut tut, Matty.......something else isn't right as well (apart from the Keys dropping like a stone!). The frame difference should add up to 0 but it actually adds up to 1............

Novices, eh?! biggrin

Perhaps I could have worded it a bit better. What I meant was that the overall frame difference of all 9 teams should always add up to 0, whereas it actually adds up to 1, so one of the teams for/against frames figures is incorrect.

Also, each teams total frames played should always be a multiple of 5, so from that I can only deduce that the offenders must be Peachcroft A, who should either have figures of F41/A49 or F40/A50........

Explained biggrin

No need to think of a headline this morning then. Although how could I top Beefy's majestic words? biggrin

Didn't Sid get 3 out of 3? That lashed black that did a circuit of the table and then dropped in won him the 2nd frame if I remember correctly..........

It was a pretty even game last night.......I can't even moan about bad luck or the table to be fair biggrin........

Well, played Kennington......we'll just have to show you how mighty we when you visit the Keys!
