Beefy the divisions for last year are unrepresentitive of the talent of the players in them due to the different amounts that people paid to enter. That is not the case this year....
Surely you would relish the challenge of playing against the better players?
Benny is quite right. I wasn't going to bother replying because everyone knows that for the first season who was in what section was not based on ability, but on the amount they were willing to pay for the entry fee, hence for example Craig Coles in Section Two and John Street in Section Three.
The new season is different as there is one entry fee across all sections thus I have graded people appropriately in order that they may be relegation and promotion battles going into the third season.
Having said that part of the grading took into account people's positions relative to other players within the same section from the first season, this is why I swapped Beefy with Jez.
I'll update these files when I can with everyone's mobile phone numbers. Can anyone who sees this message Private Message me their mobile numbers as I don't have everyone's in my phonebook.
Tom, i think you need to have a re-think about what division Paul Carter is in - if you don't know his ability, then you need to ask around as he is a better player than most in Division 2.
I presume that the fixtures that have been published are final now ? If that is that case, then pull me out as the sections are a joke. Sorry if this upsets anyone.

Pull yourself together Mark. The sections look reasonable to me. Sure there are a couple of people in each section you could argue should be in the one up or the one down. Then you'd just get a different bunch of people complaining though.
Hollis in section 1? I'll have a fiver with you that says he doesn't finish in the bottom 3....... You in section 2 - You're more than capable of beating any of the people who you are no doubt complaining about being in that section instead of the section above. Me in section 1 - This is the biggest mistake, we all know I should be in section 4!

I know what his ability is based on when I've seen him play and his results in Section Two of the 2009 season.
The sections aren't a joke. Here is a joke. I think it's quite funny.
This is the true story of George Phillips of Meridian, Mississippi, who was going to bed when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the shed. George opened the door to go turn off the light but saw there were people in the shed in the process of stealing things.
He immediately phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?" and George said no and explained the situation. Then they explained that all patrols were busy, and that he should simply lock his door and an officer would be there when available.
George said, "Okay," hung up, counted to 30, and phoned the police again.
"Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people in my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now because I've just shot them all."
Then he hung up. Within five minutes three squad cars, an Armed Response unit, and an ambulance showed up. Of course, the police caught the burglars red-handed.
One of the policemen said to George: "I thought you said that you'd shot them!"
George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"

Due to Mark's withdrawal from the 2010 season Terry Ambrose (as first reserve) has been brought into the league.
Paul Carter moves into Section Two and Terry takes a place in Section Three.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it stated that the 2010 league would be filled with the first 36 people who'd paid IN FULL the £30 entry fee?
If Milhouse has pulled out at this late stage it'd indicate that either (1) All monies haven't been paid (2) Milhouse is happy to forfeit his £30 (3) Tom's an idiot for giving him a refund.
And now there appears to be a reserve list.....

Mark hadn't paid.
A few people who expressed interest after the 36 were finalised make up the reserve list.
So why was he listed as an entrant and added to the draft fixture list ?
Can you then confirm that the "now" 36 entrants have ALL paid ?

Rileys provide free table play for all Section One matches and 50% table play for Section Two and Section Three matches.
There is however no obligation to play your matches at Rileys (despite them having very good tables and free/cheap pool). If you have access to an alternative venue then you are perfectly entitled to try to arrange with your opponent to play there.
However if I have to arbitrate between two players who cannot agree on a venue then for arguments sake Rileys will be the default venue and will be chosen.
Nobody should have any complaints about playing at Rileys, I don't need to further extol it's virtues.
