A1 A 4 v 8 Rileys A

Will 1 v 2 Matty
Ben
2 v 0 Bally
Andrew 0 v 2 Kierran
Jimbo 0 v 2 Tom Weeks
Mark 1 v 2 Scooby

It felt a lot closer than the scorline suggests, certainly early on, though we were out of it by the time the last game came around.

Will played well against Matty and was in contention each frame, but Matty took out a nice finish on his last few balls in the deciding frame. Bally also gifted ben his second frame after missing an easy black. Tom weeks had a bit of good fortune in his first frame, snookering himself on the black and then going up and down the table to hit the black, crash into the surrounding reds, and drop into the middle pocket. Unlucky Jimbo disbelief

Cavalier 7-8 Riley's 'C'

Kevin McIlroy 2-1 Pete Maconochie
Eddy Aldworth 2-1 Pete Loft
Simon Hunt 1-2 Ash Fletcher
Nick Mansell 1-2 Adam Brown
Tony Gibson 1-2 John Kinsey

We were made to fight hard for the points - 2-5 down at one point. In the end Gibbo missed a black in the middle to win it for them and JFK held his nerve. A long hard match which finished at 11:45pm - thankfully the Bulgarian porn channel on the TV helped pass the time... confuse

Crown house A 6 - 7 Cricketers A

Pete DB 2 - 0 Gitau (can't remember first name sorry)
Kenny Saunders 0 - 2 Terry Shaylor
Jamie Saczak 1 - 2 Ady Cox
Keith Hollis 2 - 1 Criag Bell
Mark cooper 1 - 2 Stuart Bell

tight match whcih we were 5 - 3 down in before I came back from 1 - 0 down and only mark knows why he tried to pot a black via a shot that frankly was never happening - even I wouldn't have lashed the shot he took on and I have more luck than most with that shot and in the deciding frame to !

Prince Of Wales 6-6 Riley's 'C'

Lee McAllister 1-2 Pete Maconochie
Riley's Simon 2-0 John Kinsey
Anthony Stopp 0-2 Ash Fletcher
Lee Trinder 1-2 Adam Brown
Brian McAllister 2-0 Lee Brown-John

A team that might well pick up a few more points than most expected. Our normally reliable last man just needed a frame, but Brian played well - potting an excellent long pressure black in the first frame, before winning the second to get them a draw. A really good, close match - well done guys!

Yep turning up after being at the pub from work wasn't really a good idea as by the time I played the alcohol had taken it toll and frankly my coordination in the first was shocking. My fault I should have eaten before I got to the club but didn't as I knew the food would be good and it was ! The food came out a after the first frame and needless to say that soaked up the excess alcohol and I played much better in the second.

No disrepect to Mark but I think had I have been a bit more with it for the first the result may have been different, coupled with the fact had he not fluke potted his last ball out of a 3 cushion snooker escape the frame was mine !

Hopefully we will play each other again when circumstances are a little different....

Do you mean when you have the luck on your side?

and yes the result could have been different. It could have been 10-3 to us! Haha.

Fair play, you were a little unlucky Beefy. I can't help getting out of a snooker though, plus at that pace I may well have sat on the ball or blocked the black to middle! Plus, I should have potted the last red with black begging earlier on in the frame! That said, you were lucky to come to the table at all in the second, I think sitting on the red having split the bunch perfectly was a tad unlucky on my part!

Cavalier 7 v 5 A1 A

A close old game right down to the wire, but unfortunately we were on the losing end. I thought we were good for a point at least but it was not to be. Both Will and I could and should have picked up at least a frame, which cost us in the end.

Will 0 v 2 Simon Hunt
Jaz 0 v 2 Eddie Allsworth
Max 2 v 0 Trevor White
Ben 2 v 1 Kev McIlroy
Andrew 1 v 2 Nick Mansell

We got off to a bad start after Pete Mac potted the black opening up the pack on his first shot, and on a couple of occasions the luck went against us and we never really managed to get going. Well played Riley's 'B'.

Riley's 'C' 5-8 Crown House Club

Pete Mac 1-2 Mark Cooper
Adam Brown 2-0 James Watson
Ash Fletcher 1-2 Greg Warland
Lee Brown-John 1-2 Julian Wood
John Kinsey 0-2 Keith Hollis

Probably the worst collective performance since I started captaining the side back in 1932. I can only apologise to chocolate brownie!

I partly agree

Lee had Julian for the taking - but failed

Pete had Mark for the taking - but missed 2 blacks leaving them over the pocket on both occassions

John had the first frame at his mercy after I went for a clearance after his break to miss the last ball but when he left a slight chance took it, I did play well int he second but a foul mid way through helped.
