Trials will be conducted based on single frames played to Blackball rules, using the swiss system (You should always end up playing someone who has won or lost the same number of frames as you, give or take a frame where necessary)
Retained players are visable to all by looking at the end of year county rankings together with considering who holds a qualifying committee position.
However if you would like it spelled out in Black and White I am happy to do this. I will provide a list post Selsey (as Selsey qualification is possible)
Please note that although the stats were updated for final matches last week, I was notified of an error on the B team stats yesterday that may impact retention for 1 or 2 people, so please do not take the rankings as currently shown as final. I will aim to get corrections up by end of the day
It's also worth considering that as all mens management roles are up for re-election, the current managers are not really able to give wild cards for the coming season.....
Worst case scenario, the new manager(s) will have a 15 - 30 minute window after the agm and before the trials to think about giving anyone a wildcard.

Actually and secretary correct me if I am wrong but providing the same person stands for election then providing no other candidates put themselves forward prior to a certain day before the AGM they are automatically re elected.
So there would be a window but as GOD has said the worst case is a vote at the AGM and I also believe wildcards have to go to a commitee vote as well....

Cool, no problem, just wanting to make sure it was something the committee were considering. From my own experience recently taking part in trials when I'd actually been given a wild card!
Following the AGM there will be presentation of the county trophies won during the year
Please ensure you are present at the AGM to collect them!
County Championship Winners Youth - Jamie Saczak Ladies - Verity Anton Mens - Adam Brown Seniors - Brian Carroll
Runner-up in County Championship Youth - Rhys Freemire Ladies - Jo Lenthall Mens - Matthew Challen Seniors - Kev McIlroy
Player of the Year re county rankings Youth - Jamie Saczak Ladies - Nicki Kinsey Mens - Adam Brown Seniors - Malcolm Lewis
8 Top Players at Selsey Youth A - Jamie Saczak Youth B - ? Ladies A - Shelly James Ladies B - Emma Penny-Larter Mens B - Rhys Freemire Mens C - Mark Pitfield Seniors A - Kev McIlroy Seniors B - Roger Goodall
If anyone knows who the Top Youth B player at Selsey was, please let me know!!!
I have not yet been notified of any wildcards, so none are included on this list. But the list shows everyone who qualified through one method or another throughout the season.
It was decided that as the B team won nationals, the entire team would be retained this year.
However in future years, this will not always be the case - we wish to avoid setting a precedent for this.
I will flag any wildcards given when these are made known to me. It may be that there are none given this year.

So there are roughly 10-12 places available in the mens squad, through the issue of wildcards and the trial?
Presumably wildcards are issued before the trial commences?
We're just discussing exact numbers of how many to take right now, current best guess is about 13 places in the mens, less any wildcards, which will be announced prior to the trials.
