With the A1 Pool Hall ceasing to trade, the Sunday League team from there are now playing at Rileys and will be known as A1 Rileys to avoid confusion with other Rileys teams.

I've made the change to the fixtures list.

Can all captains concerned please make every effort to get these matches arranged and played as soon as possible. The last league fixture is Sunday 5th June 2011.
This is the absolute deadline for all league matches. You risk having any unplayed matches voided if not played by this date so risk losing out on points for the league table and most wins.
To all captains, the last league fixture is due on Sunday 5th June 2011. Any league matches not played by midnight on this date will be null and void regardless of who asked for the match to be postponed.
If you have any outstanding matches please get these arranged as soon as you can to avoid voided matches.
Even if a captain of a different team asked you to rearrange, if the result of the match is important to your team and players then you are also responsible for getting it played.
There are six Sundays remaining, but of course you can play a match on any other evening as long as both teams can field a team, or arrange to play twice one Sunday and start earlier if needed. You can even play two matches at the same time!
Make this work else I'll propose for next season's AGM that there be absolutely no rearranged matches, and seeing as I'm always the only person attending the AGM the proposal will be accepted and added into the League Rules!
I think everyone who might care knows by now, but I'm stepping down as League Secretary at the end of this season so if anyone is interested in taking on the role please contact me asap as work will need to be done to prepare for the 2011/12 season.
I've contacted each of the current captains but so far there has been no interest.
In order to avoid Sunday League teams which don't play on a Monday or Thursday missing out on entering should the Sunday League fold, I'm reliably informed that the deadline for entries into those leagues will be early August.
They can always come n join the ever expanding Abingdon League, especially the 24 teams from Rileys...

Errr, no! We Abingdon folk don't want to be travelling back and forth to Rileys every other week! Going the Crown House is bad enough
why is that cause you get beat
Beaten at Rileys or beaten at the Crown House? Either way the answer's no. It's because we Abingdon folk don't want to be travelling back and forth to Ril.......hang on, i'm repeating myself here aren't I? Do I need to say everything twice to get the message accross these days? Come on, Beefy......engage brain before typing message

Firstly; Strange that you say that when the Cross Keys play in both the Monday & Thursday OXFORD Leagues...?
Secondly; Riley's and various other team fall within the 5 mile limit ratified at the AGM...
Thirdly; Using Riley's as an example, for the Keys it's probably just as quick to get to Rileys as it is to Berinsfield...
A number of people don't want to play on your dinky little table, so should we just not let you enter the league on this basis...?

Firstly; Strange that you say that when the Cross Keys play in both the Monday & Thursday OXFORD Leagues...? Exactly - OXFORD League, not ABINGDON league......
Secondly; Riley's and various other team fall within the 5 mile limit ratified at the AGM... I never said they didn't.......
Thirdly; Using Riley's as an example, for the Keys it's probably just as quick to get to Rileys as it is to Berinsfield... Probably, yes.......
A number of people don't want to play on your dinky little table, so should we just not let you enter the league on this basis...? Would this be the same table that you were defending the other week? As you yourself said, if the players can't play on it, it's not the tables fault.....
Oh my God! Another tongue in cheek comment taken completely out of context. You know I have nothing against Oxford teams playing in the Abingdon League. I was at the EGM, and voted in favour of it after all. I'm merely saying that surely there would be some sense in capping it once (and if) a certain limit has been reached? If you have Rileys A - Z and the Crown House A - N etc, then it's no longer the Abingdon League.........more like the Oxford and Abingdon League.
I really wouln't worry, I don't think any of the current Oxford Sunday teams would want to enter the Abingdon Sunday league. It's more likely they will enter the Monday or Thursday leagues if not already playing in them.
