Sorry, forgot this wasn't the "We hate the Keys" thread....
Many moons ago the Premier Section consisted of 3 teams and the winners of Section One had to get more points than the 3rd placed team to get promoted (you like the idea of that, don't you)
Anyway over the years the league's consisted of between 24-30 teams and therefore it was decided to make the Premier Section 4 teams and have automatic promotion/relegation and because if we made it larger we ould have a situation (if there was a BYE) where there were more teams in the Premier Section than Section One it would look odd.
Generally, we don't have more than 4 pretty good teams in any one season so the 4 team Premier Section works well. This season, whilst Oracle & Wootton have had poor seasons than in previous years a good tussle has been going on in Section One, certainly for the runner-up spot.
And just another little stat re Wootton; out of 5 Wins 3 of them have been against Oracle (twice) and Midget 'C', so it's their form vs Section One teams that have let them down.

Obviously if a team that's been promoted lose there top players then maybe they could speak to kev before the season starts and request to be left in the previous section but then that's up to the captain and chairman?
I'm sure soon your see that the prem section will be:
Demos Crown House Midget C Kennington B
although you could have 1 section split into 3 sections
A champions section with 3 teams
Demos Midget C Crown House
A prem section
Red lion Cross keys Kennington B Wheatsheaf
Then Section 1
Wooton RBL Kennington A Peachcroft Oracle A
I'm sure this be laughed of but a interesting idea on making it fairer to all teams
On a different subject Ming any chance of updating the Most wins section soon? Cheers :)
WTF !!! OMG Rob's won a few and wants to see his name up in lights.....

Even more strange is that George has won a few. Rick Selby is doing well. I was always going to be out the running for Most wins anyway as missed a few games and lost a few games though not doing too bad all things considered. :)
Sorry, forgot this wasn't the "We hate the Keys" thread.... Hahaha - mysides are splitting

Whereas 4 in the Prem and 7 in Section One is perfectly balanced Why don't we just promote one team from Section Two, say no relegation from Section One and then split the Prem/One so that there are 6 teams in each? Obviously this is just a theory - I know it's not quite that simple logistically........

This season, whilst Oracle & Wootton have had poor seasons than in previous years a good tussle has been going on in Section One, certainly for the runner-up spot. Which could equally have been for the runner-up spot in the Prem - Us, Kennington and the Red Lion could all be close to or even in front of the Midget if we won our game in hand.
And just another little stat re Wootton; out of 5 Wins 3 of them have been against Oracle (twice) and Midget 'C', so it's their form vs Section One teams that have let them down. That's nice! We've won 4 of our 5 games against Prem opposition, so should we be there too?

Though in this instance it wouldn't have help as Wootton got more points than you.

Obviously you now don't care if a team from Section Two are now in the wrong section plus to do this would (with current entries) leave a section with 2 byes. Also, the number of Teams per section alters depending on how many entries we receive

Arguably, but sadly you got relegated. YOU FINISHED LAST

Fighting talk, huh? Fireworks on the final day of the season then

Again - smiley face = humourous comment. That humour bypass kicking in again, Ming?

Obviously you now don't care if a team from Section Two are now in the wrong section Eh? I said promote - aminute ago you were banging on about promotion being deserved if a teams wins a section. Make your mind up! plus to do this would (with current entries) leave a section with 2 byes. Also, the number of Teams per section alters depending on how many entries we receive
That's why I said it's a theory!

Well, obviously not, since some of the teams will have moved sections.

And? We deserved to be relegated. What's that got to do with anything? Dodging the point methinks.......
