Decent pools table in Abingdon
Permalink Closed

Hi All

Just recently started working in Abingdon and I'm looking for somewhere to spend some of my lunch breaks that serves average (cheap) food and has a decent pool table.

Any Suggestions?

Hi Bartman.

Im from Abingdon & play for the cross keys i will give you some places that you could try....smile

Obviously i dont know where in Abingdon you work but here are some places to try & see what you think?

I will start with my pub

Cross Keys (Ock st)

Food
- Yes & reasonably priced
Pool Table - not bad, small, clean & well looked after 50p a game but there are two pillars that can get in the way depending where you leave the white but even then they only just hamper a shot biggrin

Oracle Snooker Club (Stert Street)

Food
- Not really just toasties, crisp ect but you could always take your lunch up there?
Pool Tables - 6 infact i think? reasonable condition, some roll but not that bad, payment is on the light about £5 an hour, in the day your definatly get a table to
yourself.

Crown & Thistle Pub (Stocks bar) Bridge Street

Food
- not sure but it has a resturant so i'd imagine they do.
Pool table - Not sure on this one not played there for a while but you could check it out.

Other pubs with pool tables but not sure if they all do food:

Fitzharris Arms (Thornhill walk off wootton road) 1 pool table
Midget sports bar (Preston road) 3 pool tables
Boundary House pub (Oxford Road) 1 pool table & definatly cheap food.

Hopefully that helps mate any Questions give me a buzz biggrinbiggrin
