I've been extremely lax in getting things moving for the 2011/12 season. I first started arranged this season back in July 2009!
Anyway, the format for next season remains unchanged unless I hear a mass preference for any changes.
Please let me know asap if you would like to enter next season. The first month of fixtures will be February 2011 so you must let me know asap. Also you need to give me the entry fee of £30 to guarentee your place.
Add a posting on here, email me at tom_williams78(at)hotmail.com, text me on 07739016497 or find me in person if you want to enter or if you have any questions.
I would like to see the scoring system revert to points for a win, with frame difference tracked in the event of a tie.
Anyone else agree with me?
How about 3 points for a win and 1 Bonus Point up for grabs. The loser gets the Bonus point for getting 7 frames or more, the winner gets it if restricting the loser to 6 frames or less

I'm happy to go with that for next season unless I hear a massive clamour against it.
I need to finalise next season very quickly so I need people who want to play in it next season to do two things.
Firstly you need to contact me asap to tell me you want to play. Do this by either:
Forum - stick a post on this thread. Email - tom_williams78@hotmail.com Text/Ring - 07739 016 497 Tell me in person - I've listed further below when and where I'm going to be in the next few weeks. Smoke signals - I live in Kidlington so make sure the wind is blowing in the right direction first.
Secondly you need to pay me £30 to guarentee your place. I'm not going to put people into sections etc until payment is received. you can do this in two ways:
Pay online - I'll give you the details when you tell me you want to enter and want to pay online. Pay in person - See below for when and where I'll be.
If not enough people tell me they want to play then there wont be a Singles League next year. It's down to all the players to get in touch with me, there are far two many people for me to ring around chasing people etc.
11th Dec - from 6pm to 7.30pm at Rileys 12th Dec - from 11am at Rileys then playing county away against West Berkshire. 12th Dec - from 7.30pm at Rileys 13th Dec - from 7.30pm at A1 Pool Hall 16th Dec - from 7pm at the Catherine Wheel 19th Dec - from 8pm at Crown House Club 20th Dec - from 7.30pm at A1 Pool Hall then from 8pm at Crown House Club
To any budding burglars out there, I have a very good alarm system and two Rottweilers so don't even think about it.
Once we get closer to Christmas I'll have a better idea about the number of sections for next season and will be able to begin to finalise things.
Tom.

We have enough for a section, I'm just waiting to see I get can get myself motivated enough to get entry money off the 12 people and produce the fixture list for the next season.
One change would be in the scoring system (again!) as previously discussed.
Also due to the league's shrinking size Terry can't offer Section One free tables for matches, only 50% off. Which is still pretty reasonable of course, but not as good as free table play.
Any chance of a list of who's entered? PM it to me if you'd prefer.
Without wishing to sound in any way elitist, the calibre of player entering must be good enough on average to at least provide a challenge.
No disrespect to Terry, but I don't think I can justify spending money on tables, and spending 3-odd hours in Riley's to play someone of his ability for example.
I would have thought other players, like Browny, who are better than me would have thought the same? Perhaps two sections of six might be a way of salvaging it?

Then again mr flether, going by your thursday stats i would have thought you would relish playing in a match you may have a slim chance of winning...
You may even get a chance to play with your new cue by the end of the 2011/2012 singles league...
It's not just about winning or losing mate. Unless, or course, I'm playing you, in which case it's all about winning. And that's just what happened last season of course!
Of course the Crown House provide free tables for these matches and have been for a while!! You do however need to book in advance by contacting either myself of Ashley at least a couple of hours in advance, Jez, Simon, Rob, Gaughan and a few others played a few of their games at the club!

Fair play mate, not much i can really say except for these few words:
