Thanks Buddie, you were unlucky not to get your 3rd frame always next time .
Really enjoyed my first experience to & i can already see we have a good team spirit, i can't wait for the next match........
Shelly & Moo 2/3, Dawn, Lucy, Sarah & Emma 1/3 Michelle 0/3
Sarah was unlucky to jaw the black to make us 7-7 going into the last leg, however by this time Hampshire A had gone into panic mode and kicked arse, all in all not a bad result for us against us the strongest team in the group, I really enjoyed the day great team support within the the Ladies B team, I think we are going have fun this season.
A team = 3 points per frame win + 1 bonus point for 3/3 B team = 2 points per frame win + 1 bonus point for 3/3
Now last year teams in the C section received the same as the B's but rumour has it that this year C/D team players will be receiving 1 point per frame win and 1 bonus point for 3/3.
Stats updated from last weekends matches on the website.
Ox A 19v8 Hamps A Ox B 17v10 Hamps B Ox D 13v14 Hamps D gotta find that elusive extra frame boys!!! Hamp LB 16v5 Ox LB a fine start winning the first leg 5-2... somewhat downhill from there
Well done to Matty, Kev, Lucky and Browny in the As for all winning 3/3 In the B's Jez, Ash and Andrew all won 3 And 3/3 for Steve Jordan in the D's.
Oxford 'C's won the first ever C vs D derby match 16-11 on the weekend. With a big squad of 14 to deal with, I was pulling my hair out thinking about who to drop for the match itself, who to drop for the 1st leg etc when people seemed to be dropping out left, right and centre with some bizarre reasons leaving me with 8 and having to pick one of the ladies for my squad.
A solid start saw us race in to a 6 - 0 lead and take the leg 7 - 2, although in fairness the amount of mistakes the 'D's made were unreal; they could have easily won the first set 5 - 4 if not more. Words of wisdom from El Capitano Flash Jordan must have paid off, as the D team began reeling off the frames to leave us more than a bit worried; they won the 2nd leg 6 - 3 to make it 10 - 8 althogether. However, a strong performance in the back 9 from my boys saw us over the line and finish off with a 16 - 11 victory, more importantly claiming the 3 points that keep us top of the table.
Man of the match: Jimbo with a strong 3/3 (apparently his first ever maximum in a county match?!)
James Eggleston 3/3
Luke Ingram 2/3
Matty Hearne 2/3
Claire Brown 2/3 (Thanks for stepping in, good job)
Frankie Merola 2/3
Max Emery 2/3
Kenny Saunders 1/3
Jamie Saczak 1/3
Jamie Power 1/3
New boy Matty Hearne reamins top of the C team standings so far with an impressive 5/6, not too far from a 'B' team call-up you would think. He could have been knocked off his perch had Beefy not forgotten that there was a match on (nice one Beefy...) He might have to carry on with that very high percentage to get retained this year...
A's didnt play - interesting how they were allowed to rearrange a match when the c's were forced to play their game last month last month with half the regular players missing because of holidays and other issues meaning players were moved around to cover absent players......
C's lost to Berkshire 18 - 9
Oxford got off to a bad start 7 - 0 down, combination of missed opportunites, run of the ball and silly mistakes - the usual reasons.... when things go wrong.
not impressed with the venue though, cold, lack of atmosphere and tables that rolled to the left quite noticably.

I understand the bite from this kind of spider is quite deadly unless you are lucky enough to have an antidote with you.
The C's season has fallen into Arsenal-like crisis with the third consecutive loss, this time at the hands of Berkshire (a team we trounced 18-9 in the first match...that seems a long, LONG time ago...)
A horrific opening leg saw us lose the first seven frames and from then on there was only truly going to be one winner. A bit of bad luck here and there, missed opportunities and a ****ty venue (freezing cold on god awful tables) was our undoing.
But more worryingly, we seemed like we lacked confidence and were scared to play our usual game.
Different things have gone against us this season, including the "squad rotation" from within our own county setup.
Next up, a local derby when we face our 'D' team.....UP THE C'S !!!
Beef the reason the a game was rearrange for next Sunday was because the clash with international fixtures which was announced before season even started
Well done Ox Mens A for beating Bucks A yesterday. A very pleasing result gives our A team a great chance of qualifying for selsey... just keep it up for a few more games guys!
Ladies A lost to Berks Ladies leaving our selsey qualification in serious doubt A lot to do to turn around our season in the 3 remaining games.
Yh brilliant performance yesterday from the lads with a good standard of pool with six break dishes from both sides two from myself one from kev one from Scooby Steve Avery against me and one from streety I think big win for us were edging closer to Selsey
