The Oxford 'C' team kept alive their hopes of reaching Selsey 2012 with a 15 - 12 victory against Oxford 'D', a result which has unfortunately killed off any hope that the 'D' team had of qualifying for Nationals.
A strong first leg saw us surge in front to take a 2/3 frame lead, something that we never relinquished as we won the first leg 6-3, the second 5-4 before losing the last leg 4-5.
The next match sees us take on Hampshire 'C', who sit pretty at the top of the group and have already booked their place at Nationals next year.
Oxford 'C' team recorded an impressive 10 - 17 away win at leaders Hampshire 'C' today, although it looks likely they will need a wildcard to reach Selsey 2012 as Berkshire (apparently) defeated Hampshire 'D'.
A great win for Oxford ladies A today... beating the thus undefeated Hampshire ladies A and giving us a great last gasp chance of making Selsey.
With 3 teams joint on points from 2nd to 4th, a win in our last match of the season in January should see us take second and qualify. After a tough season and a few disappointments where we just missed out on wins, this massive win has given us a great chance.
OK - the results are on the national website so I can take the stats from there. Normally I keep mine separately as it serves as a double check of the national table. So as long as we're happy the score's right I reckon we can trust it - can anyone confirm the score was 18-9 to berks C?
The 'C' team travelled down to Hampshire for the last match of the season, knowing only a win V Hamps D AND Oxford D to turn over Berkshire would be good enough to qualify for Selsey, otherwise it would be to sit and wait for a possible wildcard.
We fell 2 - 0 behind but didnt let it affect us and took the next 5 out of 6 to lead 6 - 3.
Confidence was flowing and the team rattled off frame after frame, quickly making it to the finish line and beyond, ending the season with a comfortable 19 - 8 victory. Word was spreading that Oxford 'D' were in front against Berkshire (although we heard a few different scorelines!) and when the news finally came through it was a relief to us all. Bring on Selsey!

Big congratulations to Matty Hearne who topped most wins, and if he had won his last frame he would have sneaked the Regional Most Wins too, but it was not to be! Still, cracking effort! (Also a huge congrats to Robbie Gratton of the D's who managed to pip Hearne to the Regional Title!)
The C's will travel down to Selsey with the belief that we can go all the way! COME ON!!!
