Mark 3/3 Boinky 1/2 Gee 1/2 Sid 0/2 Beefy 2/3 Dan 1/3
Not a bad result considering we were 3 - 0 down in the first leg.
Missed opportunites in several frames could have easily reversed this scoreline, two missed blacks that were easy cost us dear, I was guilty of one of them.

Everyone knows "the game of two halves quote" but this was a game of "3 thirds quite literally"
Keys romp away with fist leg 4 - 1 before the crown house notch up 6 in a row to take them to the brink of victory and sniffing a good result but the keys dug deep and took it to the decider.
Boinky cleared well to take the victory....phew
Great result considering we were 4 - 1 down but should have been better once we recovered to go 7-4 up.
Leg scores 4-1 Keys, 5-0 CH, 3-2 Keys

Second week running Crown House B blow the chance of a decent result this time from 5 - 0 up.
Midget A 6 - 9 Crown House B
Beefy 3/3 Gee and Boinky 2/3 each Sid 1/3 (sid had issues with his 3rd game and to be fair it was a VERY borderline decision on whether the shot his opponent played was legal) James 1/3

Ball, object ball 3" apart (approx) and both in a straight line to the corner pocket. white travels forward about 8 inches and then the back spin kicks in stopping it dead when the cue is flat in line......
Raised but difficult to call, as your cueing into the table not the object ball, back spin fair enough but even ronnie o'sullivan cant play a topspin, stun, and screw combined in a shot when the balls are that close.....

So how could that of been a borderline decision, it was a foul and why wasnt it called ,i thought you of all people would of challenged it ,not that it made any difference to the score ,but what if you had lost the match ,it makes me laugh why do people play pool and when they ref they aint got a clue about the rules ,funny that.

As far as I can tell without actually haven't seen the shot, I think I would have refrained from calling a foul in that instance.
I've called plenty of push shots in my time, and all when they have been pretty damn obvious. As humans aren't blessed with slo-mo action replay, the ref can't have actually "seen" the push happening, and so must rely on the movement of the white to illustrate whether the push occured. As the player managed to prevent the white ball rolling through in the manner typical of a push shot, I would not have claimed the foul/
Also I'd've thought that as beefy asys, the player managed to get backspin on it and this is unlikely to be possible whilst also having the cue, white and object ball all touching at the same time (the essence of a push shot)

Lets face it, Beefy's explanation of anything is hard to decipher at the best of times...

Crown House win the battle of the Houses last night
Crown B 9 - 6 Bounday
Good game and it was nice to finally get a win over the old Red Lion team who had beaten us home and away last year by big margins when we were at Kennington.
Dan / Gee 3/3 Boinky 2/3 Beefy 1/3 James alas 0/3
